Avatar: The Way of the Water FIRST TRAILER: Jake and Neytiri Sully return with their children a decade after the events of James Cameron’s epic
A trailer for James Cameron’s Avatar sequel, The Way Of Water, has been released.
Viewers see the return of Na’vi people on the planet Pandora in the long-awaited sequel almost 13 years after the original epic was released.
The beginning of the trailer reintroduces Jake and Neytiri Sully and their children, as the story picks up more than a decade after the events of the first film.

Fans are given a glimpse at below the waves of the ocean and shown a number of fantastic creatures including colourful jellyfish, whales and large winged fish.
Jake is seen teaching his daughter to hunt using a bow, as she tells him: ‘Dad, you know I think I am crazy but I feel her. I hear her heartbeat. She is so close.’
He asks: ‘So what does her heartbeat sound like?’ before she replies, ‘Mighty’.

The cast for the much-anticipated film includes Sam Worthington, who plays Jake, and Zoe Saldana, who takes on the role of Neytiri.
It will also see the return of Sigourney Weaver as Dr Grace Augustine and Stephen Lang who plays Colonel Miles Quaritch.

She said: ‘I can get choked up just talking about it because I was able to see just 20 minutes of the second instalment right before the year ended, last year. And I was speechless, I was moved to tears.’
Director James also spoke out the new film and subsequent follow up, and said: ‘We’re a hundred percent complete on Avatar 2 and we’re sort of ninety-five percent complete on Avatar 3.’
The original Avatar is the highest-grossing film of all time.
Avatar: The Way Of Water is due for release in cinemas on December 16.
