BBC’s Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt ooze Friday energy as they chat over pints

BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt may have early starts most days, but that doesn't mean they can't let their hair down after finishing.

The duo were spotted indulging in some pints in Manchester City Centre on Friday afternoon, where they looked worlds-away from their on-screen personas.

Keeping warm in the rather chilly temperatures, Naga, 48, donned a black North Face jacket, which she wore over a black turtleneck jumper. Meanwhile, Charlie, 60, sported a khaki coat and black jeans.

The pair were spotted chatting and smoking outside the city centre bar, as Charlie finished off his pint before heading back inside.

The outing comes after Comic Relief viewers have suggested that there may be some Ofcom complaints over a joke made by Naga during the broadcast.

One segment of the show saw a number of broadcasters each read out a rather terrible joke off of a card.

Former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan quipped: "The other day I bought a thesaurus but when I got home and opened it all the pages were blank…I have no words to describe how angry I am."

Joining in with the fun, Naga's joke was: "I went to the zoo the other day, there was only one dog in it. It was a Shih Tzu."

Naga appeared confused by the joke, while Charlie descended into a fit of giggles as her confusion continued.

After a few moments she finally laughed and repeated the word "Shih Tzu." However, viewers at home were left rather shocked that the joke, which involved something that sounds like a swear word airing before the watershed.

"Oop a kind of swear word before 9pm, ofcom is gonna have a field day with complaints lmao #ComicRelief" joked one viewer.

Other shared that they had been left in stitches, both at the joke itself and at Naga's confusion.

One said: "Hands down, the best joke of the night so far: 'I went to a zoo last weekend, and they only had one dog! It was a shih tzu.' [laughing emoji] #RedNoseDay #ComicRelief"

"Naga not getting the shih tzu joke #ComicRelief" added another, ending the tweet with a trio of laughing emojis.

And a third wrote: "Ngl the shih tzu/shit zoo joke got me" to which a fourth replied: "Me too but I didn't get it so came to twitter to understand it…"
