Ben Affleck is mistaken for friend Matt Damon in new Dunkin' Donuts ad

Ben Affleck is mistaken for friend Matt Damon in hilarious new Dunkin’ Donuts commercial… after co-starring with wife JLo in the chain’s Super Bowl ad

Ben Affleck is starring in a new Dunkin’ Donuts ad.

This follows the one he made with wife Jennifer Lopez that premiered in February during the Super Bowl.

In addition to appearing in the commercial, the 50-year-old entertainer conceptualized and directed the promotional clip.

Shared on Monday, the advert showcases Ben — who was recently spotted with stepchild Emme — once again flexing his comedic chops.

As the filmmaker touts a new offer called the Dunkin Run he is mistaken for his friend and collaborator Matt Damon, 52.

The scene opens with Ben arriving to a Dunkin’ store and announcing, ‘I’m here for the Dunkin’ Run…campaign, commercial.’

‘It’s a great deal — a large coffee, a donut for a buck. I mean, it’s pretty cool,’ he explains to two cashiers.

The employees appear baffled, as they don’t recognize the Boston-bred Hollywood fixture.

Ben continued, ‘So I thought it would be like authentic and meta — yes, I’m doing the commercial, but am I doing the commercial?’

He adds, ‘You know, I don’t do commercials. I’m a real actor. This is an art form for me.’

One employee thinks hard about where they might have seen the star before his coworker helps him out by saying, ‘You know, The Departed.’

It’s clear she has Ben confused for Damon, who starred in the 2006 film alongside fellow Boston native Mark Wahlberg.

Ben then repeats, ‘The Departed,’ in a heavy northeast accent as he realizes what’s going on.

‘Are you in The Departed?’ she asks before Ben shakes his head in frustration and says in disbelief, ‘I’m Matt Damon.’

The worker then gushes, ‘I love him,’ adding, ‘He’s had a really consistent career, I think.’

The Gone Girl actor is dressed in a dark blue plaid shirt and a charcoal-colored coat in the 30-spot, which was filmed in Boston in January.

The snippet ends with Ben leaving the establishment with his go-to order — iced coffee, milk and two sugars — along with a donut.

People magazine spoke with Affleck during the shoot and he talked up the ad, saying: ‘The “Dunkin’ run” is sort of a form of the expression that people would use to say like, “Just going to get a cup of coffee. Go make a Dunkin’ run.”

‘It’s had various iterations and evolutions, and the most consistent version of it is like, you know, “going [for a] Dunkin’ run.”‘

Ben also reflected on his longtime habit of grabbing coffee from the chain, beginning when he was a teenager.

‘I just took that for granted. I mean, if you were going to get coffee, there was no other coffee place that you would go to,’ he recalled.

Super Bowl ad: The new commercial comes after Ben previously starred in an ad alongside his wife Jennifer Lopez earlier this year

Scolded: Jennifer was surprised when she pulled up to the coffee and baked goods chain to find her husband working at the drive-through window

It comes after Ben previously starred in an ad alongside his wife Lopez earlier this year.

In the scene the Marry Me star, 53, was surprised when she pulled up to the coffee and baked goods chain to find the Argo director working at the drive-through window.

‘What are you doing? Is that what you do when you say you’re going to work all day?’ she asked the actor.

Lopez looked fabulous as ever, wearing a white puffer jacket as she drove up to the window. Meanwhile Ben acted as the perfect Dunkin’ employee, wearing their logo T-shirt and a matching visor hat.

In the video, Affleck is pictured surprising unassuming customers, with a hidden camera recording him as he takes orders.

‘Do I look familiar?’ he hilariously asks one customer. ‘No,’ the man replies.

Towards the end he gets surprised by Lopez, who instructs him to grab her a glazed donut before he signs off work.

‘I think people already sort of think that I work for Dunkin’,’ Affleck told People about the commercial.

‘In Boston, it was such a big deal. I think I became kind of associated with it, and this sounded like a fun opportunity to kind of play with that association, and a chance to come back here to shoot it at home in Boston.’
