Britain’s Got Talent fans were astounded as hopeful Miki Dark appeared to set fire to Simon Cowell’s head during Sunday’s episode.

With hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly warning viewers not to attempt the trick under any circumstances, Miki, who previously appeared on America’s Got Talent, silently enticed Simon up onto the stage before instructing him to sit down.

Simon had his head put in a black hood while he was visibly wearing fireproof clothing.

His head was then shut inside a wooden box while Miki poured lighter fluid on top and sparked up a lighter, with flames rising out the top of the box and into the air above.

While many members of the television audience at home were shocked by what they saw, others joked Simon’s face would ‘melt’ after star had cosmetic enhancements in the past.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: ‘Simon’s face didn’t melt in the heat so you know it’s fake #BGT.’

‘Simon’s Botox still in one piece?’, asked another viewer, while someone else shared: ‘That explains Simon’s melted face.’

Someone else remarked: ‘Ermm.. I am the only one that thought the burning Simon Cowell head trick was so fake! It’s just a fire proof box within a box.’ 

One other viewer shared: ‘Simon Cowell not knowing what the hell just happened until Amanda said he set your head on fire.’ 

Another surprised viewer wrote: ‘Simon’s face actually looks burnt omg that was insane, he literally could have just killed him the nutter.’

While someone else posted: ‘Simon looks fuming! Who can blame him he’s just had his head over a sheet and on fire!!’

Another person wrote: ‘Whaaaat! He actually set Simon Cowell’s head on fire.. entertaining performance, but Simon doesn’t look happy about it understandably!’

And someone else tweeted: ‘Brilliant act about setting Simon’s head on fire. But Simon was definitely in on it. Brilliant, nonetheless.’

One other viewer wrote: ‘So confused by the pretending to set Simon on fire act?! Obviously he wasn’t in any danger.’

Last month, Simon insisted he has never had a facelift after Ant and Dec made a cheeky quip about his changing appearance.

The music mogul, 63, hit back after the Geordie duo, both 47, joked about his ‘new face’ during the opening episode of Britain’s Got Talent.

Dec told the audience: ‘We have a new face joining the judging panel,’ to which his comedy partner replied: ‘What? Simon has a new face?’

Speaking to the Mirror, Simon laughed off the suggestion he had gone under the knife, despite his drastically altered features.

‘I think it’s hysterical. I mean, it just makes me laugh. I haven’t had a facelift or anything.’

‘I’ve had a bit of Botox or whatever, but nothing drastic. So when I hear about this stuff, honestly it does make me laugh’. 

It comes after Britain’s Got Talent hopeful Felix Clements divided viewer opinion as he took to the stage during Sunday’s episode of the show.

The PE teacher impressed judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli with an emotional contemporary dance.

The twinkle-toed performer sailed through to the next round of the competition after his successful audition, with his school pupils in the audience to cheer him on while he claimed he was completely unaware of their presence before giving them high fives as they stormed the stage when he was voted through.

However, while Felix impressed many viewers, others took to Twitter to voice their doubt over how genuine the scenes were, insisting he must have known his class was there.

One person wrote: ‘As if he didn’t know the kids were there!! All so set up !! #BGT.’

While someone else shared: ‘Hmmmm Not totally won over #Felix #BGT.’

Sharing some more positive words, someone tweeted: ‘Felix Clements: Now this is MY kind of act. The sort of thing I used to see on the Greatest Dancer. Love contemporary style of dance it’s so breathtaking creative and beautiful This is a strong audition from Felix. I loved that!!!!!’

While another person posted: ‘That was a great audition from Felix. Creative breathtaking and brilliant storytelling . Can’t wait to see what he does next #BGT.’

‘Aww, Those kids love their teacher #felix #BGT #BGT2023,’ commented another viewer.

And someone else wrote: ‘Wow well done Felix you were absolutely amazing! :)’

The dancer said his inspiration for Saturday’s performance came from 2008 BGT winner George Sampson.

He never stopped sharpening his dance moves while studying to become a teacher – and occasionally joined street dance battles in Reading.

When Felix got a job as PE teacher at Woodcote Primary School in Berkshire – he didn’t give up his passion and committed to create an after-school dance club of his own.

The turning point happened when he sent Britain’s Got Talent the YouTube link to his performance as he danced to This City by Sam Fischer.

According to the Mirror he said: ‘I was in a really good place with my job and I wanted to show the kids that they could really follow their dreams.

‘And then BGT got back in touch to say they couldn’t stop watching the YouTube!’

The kids’ teacher also proved to be very humble as he said he can ‘only hope’ to have as much success as George Sampson and that he is a ‘massive inspiration’ to him.

Britain’s Got Talent continues next Saturday on ITV at 8pm.
