Brooklyn Beckham, 23, has recently embarked on a culinary journey, keeping his Instagram followers updated with new recipes as they watch his progress. At first, the former photographer was brutally slammed by critics, but his latest post proves the young Beckham can give as good as he gets.

Brooklyn’s latest culinary venture involves a homemade fish and chips sandwich, with all components aside from the bread made from scratch.

He jokingly captioned the latest clip: “Fish and chips sandwich

“Let me guess the next article title: untoasted bread,” he added with a laughing emoji, in an apparent dig at those who have slammed his chef aspirations.

The famous son of David and Victoria showcased his twist on the class British meal.

He started by thinly slicing potatoes, before frying them in oil and dosing them with salt.

Brooklyn then moved on to the fish, seasoning the two fresh fillets before dunking them in a beer-batter mixture he created.

He fried the fish in a shallow pan before moving onto the dressing; a homemade tartar sauce.

Assembling it all together for a delicious-looking sandwich, Brooklyn’s video got hundreds of thousands of views in hours as followers flooded him with support.

Some applauded Brooklyn for “keeping it British”, while others encouraged him to “ignore (the critics) and just do you”.

The cynics have mostly been hung up on Brooklyn’s seemingly simple recipes and his lack of professional qualifications.

One commentor said: “Time to get an actual job,” while another brutally added: “Failed footballer, failed photographer, failed chef!”

At no point has Brooklyn claimed to be a professional chef and he has previously explained that he simply fell in love with cooking during quarantine.

The newlywed and his wife, Nicola Peltz, 27, also appeared in an Instagram Live in August where he addressed the criticisms he had been receiving.

He said: “I am not a chef, I am a cook.

“I just absolutely love cooking and starting from the very bottom and you know, learning, I’m going to be learning every day.”

His wife outed the former footballer, suggesting that the star could follow in his mother Posh Spice’s footsteps if he wanted to.

She said: “By the way, he can sing, he sings in the shower every day.”

Brooklyn admitted that he does indeed sing in the shower, although his song of choice garnered a giggle from the thousands of followers watching the live.

He confessed: “I do sing in the shower and I, for some reason, always sing the English National Anthem. I don’t know why.”

As viewers encouraged him to show off his patriotic skills, he declined explaining: “If I sing they’ll go, ‘Oh, now he is a singer.’ I’m not going to do it.”
