Carol Kirkwood mystery fiancé finally unveiled as ‘divorced policeman’
Carol Kirkwood, 60, revealed her engagement to boyfriend Steve Randall live on BBC Breakfast in May 2022 after dating for around one year. The weather presenter has remained relatively tight-lipped about their romance, but it has now been reported that he is a 47-year-old police officer from Hampshire.
Much like Carol, it is reported that Steve has been married before but split from his wife in 2017, according to MailOnline.
The publication also claims that he shares a teenage son with his ex-wife.
Alongside his work as a police officer, Steve is said to be a keen athlete and has run marathons to raise money for cancer charities and the poppy appeal.
On Wednesday, Carol shared the first photographs with Steve with her Twitter followers.
The pair look besotted with each other as they beamed in the snowy mountains during a trip to Norway.
She wrote in the caption: “What a difference a week makes! This time last week Steve and I were in the snow in beautiful Norway.”
Carol and Steve were also seen publicly in January when they attended the Radio Times Covers Party at Claridge’s in London.
They had previously been photographed carrying bags of shopping in a car park near her Berkshire home in May last year.
Before Carol began dating Steve, she was married to Jimmy Kirkwood for 18 years before they divorced in 2018. They do not share any children.
Although she has remained coy about her new beau’s identity, she has revealed snippets of information about their loved-up relationship.
In 2021, Carol spoke to Prima magazine about how happy she is to have found love again following her divorce from Jimmy.
She gushed: “He always makes me a cup of tea before I go to work in the morning, which is very romantic – it’s 2.45am.

Carol also opened up about his romantic proposal when he got down on one knee during a riverside picnic.
She told HELLO: “It was a lovely, sunny day and we had taken a picnic with us, and we were sitting by the river, watching the boats going by.
“I turned to say, ‘What’s wrong?’ He was on his knee, and he proposed.
“At first, I thought he was joking, but he said, ‘No no, I really do mean it, Will you marry me?’ I said: ‘Yes! Of course!’”
BBC Breakfast airs daily at 6am on BBC One.
