Charmed star Shannen Doherty reveals cancer has spread to her brain in tearful video

Shannen Doherty has shared the heartbreaking news that her cancer has spread to her brain. In a video, posted to her Instagram page, Shannen appears emotional as she undergoes radiation therapy.

The Charmed star, 52, could be seen with tears in her eyes as she underwent treatment. Captioning the clip, she wrote: "January 12, 2023.

"On January 5th, my ct scan showed Mets in my brain. Yesterdays video was showing the process of getting fitted for the mask which you wear during radiation to your brain.

"January 12, the first round of radiation took place. My fear is obvious. I am extremely claustrophobic and there was a lot going on in my life.

"I am fortunate as I have great doctors like Dr Amin Mirahdi and the amazing techs at cedar sinai. But that fear…. The turmoil….. the timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like.

Commenting on the clip, fellow actress Sarah Michelle Gellar wrote: "You are a warrior [red heart emoji]" And Selma Blair added: "This is a lot. This is a lot to take on , still again.

"And I am wishing for all the wise peace you have learned to find you in the terror moments. To know we are holding you. Love. All love. [yellow hear emoji]."

And a fan commented: "You’re such a f***ing warrior. [two crying emojis] I’m in awe of your strength and bravery. Thank you for being so strong and for sharing your journey with us.

"I always pray for you and I’m so happy that you are still fighting. You’re such an inspiration. Keep going!! We love you. [pink heart emoji]."

Another wrote: "Sending you so much love from a fellow cancer fighter. You are an inspiration & I appreciate you for sharing your journey with us."

Shannen was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. She underwent tests after her dog Bowie began to "obsessively sniff" at her side.

In 2016 she underwent eight rounds of chemotherapy and radiation after the cancer reached her lymph nodes. The cancer then went into remission in 2017, before returning a couple of years later.

Shannen appeared on Good Morning America in February 2020, where she announced the heartbreaking news that her cancer had returned. She told the show hosts: "My cancer came back, and that’s why I’m here.

Holding back tears, she continued: “I don’t think I’ve processed it. It’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways.”
