Coleen Rooney in talks for Wagatha Christie documentary after win

Coleen Rooneyis reportedly "in talks for a Wagatha Christie documentary" after winning the libel trial launched by Jamie Vardy’s wife Rebekah Vardy on Friday 29 July.

Rebekah, 40, launched legal action after Coleen, 36, claimed her fellow WAG's Instagram account was linked to stories about her leaking to the press.

The seven day-long trial took place back in May and after a wait of over eight weeks, Mrs Justice Karen Steyn delivered her verdict on Friday 29 July – announcing that Rebekah had lost.

And now The Mirror reports that Coleen is in “advanced talks” to tell her story in a documentary series to be made by Lorton films. The film company previously made the documentary Rooney about her footballer husband Wayne Rooney.

The publication also reports there’s a potential deal with Netflix on the cards but could also be snapped up by Amazon Prime.

The Liverpool born WAG will reportedly open up about failed attempts to find a resolution to the matter out of court and is also set to discuss her shock at the huge legal bill, which is said to have reached a whopping £3 million.

A friend of Coleen previously told the publication: “Coleen has remained quiet ever since that famous online post. But this could all change in what could be the TV event of the year.

“Viewers would see all the evidence that Coleen has forensically gathered via her online sleuthing and see why she is convinced that Rebekah leaked the stories about her and others. She is minded to get it all out into the public domain and let people make their own minds up. Talks are very well advanced.”

While a source told the Daily Mail: "Coleen has a great sense of right and wrong, of what is moral, and this has become a crusade with her. Now that the court case is over, she is going to take the chance to really tell her full story."

OK! has contacted Coleen's representatives for comment.

In her ruling on Friday 29 July, the judge said it was “likely” that Rebekah's agent at the time, Caroline Watt, “undertook the direct act” of passing the information to The Sun, condemned "vile" trolls who sent abuse after Coleen's initial post and labelled Rebekah's evidence "manifestly inconsistent" with other evidence heard by the court.

Addressing key moments and pieces of evidence from the case, the judge also deemed it "likely" that Rebekah's agent"deliberately dropped her phone in the sea"after an order was made for it to be inspected.

In the hours since the ruling, both Rebekah and Coleen have released statements on the matter – with mum-of-five Rebekah doubling down on her claim she knew nothing of the leaks, and saying the judge "got it wrong and this is something I cannot accept."

Meanwhile, Coleen said she is "pleased" with the outcome while insisting she "never believed [the case] should have gone to court at such expense in times of hardship for so many people when the money could have been far better spent helping others."
