Corrie star Alan Halsall says daughter uses his celebrity status to embarrass him
Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall says his daughter is "getting cheeky" after learning that her dad and mum are both famous faces.
Alan, who plays loveable mechanic Tyrone Dobbs, says his daughter Sienna, nine, is starting to realise that both her parents are celebrities and often uses it to embarrass him in public.
The 39 year old shares Sienna with his ex-wife and co-star Lucy-Jo Hudson, who played Katy Harris (the older sister of Craig Harris) on the Cobbles.
But now that Lucy-Jo is a regular fixture on Hollyoaks, where she plays character Donna-Marie Quinn, Alan admits that his daughter is using their celebrity status to cheekily embarrass him when they’re out in public.
Alan said: “She thinks it’s normal. Now she’s nine she’s getting a bit cheeky with it. We’ll be walking around a shop and she goes ‘Look daddy! It’s you there on a magazine'.”
He also said she has it "from all angles" with his girlfriend, Tisha Merry, also a Corrie star playing Steph Britton, who worked at Nick's Bistro, on the show.
On screen, Tyrone has been in a relationship with Fiz Brown, played by Jennie McAlpine, on and off for 20 years.
In a surprise for the pair, the show’s bosses put together a compilation of the couples best moments – from the moment they met to the birth of their daughter.
But in a hilarious interview, the pair said they didn't remember half of the footage – including steamy passionate kisses.
Recently Tyrone has been featured on the covers of lots of soap magazines in the run up to Christmas as he sets to plan the biggest surprise for Fiz.
The show bosses have even reportedly scripted a romanic Christmas wedding for the couple, with every detail planned extensively by Tyrone who wants the entire ceremony to be a shock for Fiz.
However, in true soap style, his plan comes with a few hiccups along the way – which then leaves Fiz with a sour taste in her mouth.
After getting a Christmas present that she wasn't very happy with, Fiz heads off to buy a turkey.
On a back country road, disaster strikes when her car breaks down and she's without a phone.
Heart-breaking scenes will air as she's left wondering how she'll get home.
Meanwhile Tyrone is completely panicked, assuming the worst – that's she's ditched him at the altar.
