Davina McCall to host ‘grown-up’ Love Island as ITV shares show title and how to apply

Davina McCall has officially been named as the host of a new ITV dating show – tipped to be a 'grown up' version of Love Island.

ITV has announced the name of the show as The Romance Retreat, which will see single parents, nominated by their children, to go on the show to find love.

They will all live together in a huge country house as they try to find their soulmate, as viewers at home will keep up with every twist and turn.

Former Big Brother presenter Davina was clearly thrilled at her new role as took to Instagram to confirm the news where she gushed about the new show.

She wrote: "Omg.. i manifested and it came true!! I’ll be hosting a brand NEW grown up dating series for ITV1!!

"This is a show for single parents who have lived a life , have stories to tell about their dating pasts and deserve another chance at love and I’m gonna help you.

Davina continued: "It will all take place in the most romantic countryside location!!

"We are still casting so if u want my help finding love and u have a child who is over 18 , what are you waiting for ??? ( particularly u eligible men .. where are you ?! ) Sign up here itv.com/beontv It’s going to be AMAZING !! x."

In the same post, Davina shared a video where she looked stunning in a patterned blue dress as she said: "I manifested and I made it happen."

She explained that she "willed there to be an amazing new dating programme for grown ups".

Davina passionately spoke about how she and ITV are looking for people that "have lived a life" and "have baggage".

She then talked about the application process, as she said: "We are particularly interested in finding desirable, deserving men," before she quickly added: "And women as well."

Davina made no secret about her bid to host a new dating show for middle-aged people, as she said she was “literally begging ITV to let me present mid-life Love Island. I could fill a villa in Love Island with middle-aged people with the best backstories you have ever heard in your life.”

She wasn't the only star to covet the role, as Kelly Brook said she would love to host a "vintage Love Island" during her Heart FM radio show.

This Morning's Vanessa Feltz also expressed her desire to front such a show.
