DIY SOS star Nick Knowles was pictured out in Soho on Sunday with loved ones including his girlfriend Katie Dadzie. The 59-year-old shared an article on his Twitter page, which claimed he had a “fuller figure” on his latest outing after “putting on four stone”.

Addressing the story, Nick urged people to “be kind” when it came to commenting on bodies.

He wrote: “Just so you know – I put on a lot of weight when I had long Covid. Many did.

“I’ve managed to lose most of it now. People printing unpleasant tripe like this won’t put me off. #bekind.”

Many of Nick’s 157,000 followers flocked to his post to support him.

Jerry Tremellen wrote: “Nick, If it’s any consolation, decent people ignore this stuff and just brush it aside.

“Glad you’re managing to get through long Covid, that’s the main thing. Keep well.”

Leanne commented: “Nobody has any business discussing anybody else’s weight. Gained weight, lost weight? Nobody else’s damn business!”

Julie Bickerstaffe added: “Good on ya Nick you’re looking really good.”

The property expert went on to reply to one of his followers who said they were also on a weight loss journey.

He replied: “You’ll get there – be kind to yourself and don’t get frustrated with it. A lot to deal with there.”

The presenter previously spoke about how lockdown made him creep up to 18 stone back in 2020.

He told The Metro: “We start the show with me looking hairy, bearded and very fat.

“Because during lockdown… I put on weight during lockdown, because I was doing a lot of writing and not being able to travel much, and had a small injury which meant I couldn’t do the training that lots of other [people] were doing.”

He went on to say he had however begun getting fit again and lost two stone.

The presenter previously revealed how long Covid had also left him “absolutely knackered”.

With this, he admitted he felt as though he couldn’t tell anyone as he didn’t want to lose any work.

Nick needn’t to worry however as he’s currently back at work with his team working on a 10-day build in Leeds.

The project is creating a new home for a charity in the city called Getaway Girls.

The organisation helps girls and young women to learn new skills, build confidence, resilience and raise aspirations.
