EastEnders Karen Taylor star is worlds away from Walford with hair transformation
EastEnders fans are coming to the realisation on the huge impact that the hair and make-up department can make when it comes to transforming a star into their character.
Actress Lorraine Stanley – who has played mum of four Karen Taylor on the much-loved London soap since 2017 – has emphasised how different she is from her on-screen persona, as she showed off a hair transformation.
In a sweet new snap, the star dazzled her fans in an electric blue co-ord set as she posed beside her nephew after the pair were recently invited to meet the players at Portsmouth F.C.
Donning her favourite football team's colour, Lorraine stunned her Instagram followers as she looked as confident as ever in her loose-fitting linen trousers.
She paired the look with a short-sleeved t-shirt in the same rich cornflower blue, a pair of wedged sandals, a statement necklace and an Apple watch.
But fans were most of all blown away by Lorraine's golden locks, which had been transformed from her usual on-screen unkempt bun to a smooth and slick down-do, the length sitting just below her collarbones.
Lorraine – who previously appeared in the 2004 spin off Pat and Mo as a young Mo Harris, and in EastEnders in 2016 as Thelma Bragg – finished the ensemble with a naturally bronzed make-up look.
She captioned the family photo: "Honoured to be a guest at Pompey football club! I’m taking my Nephew Buddy who’s football mad, he’s so excited to meet the players."
She also added snaps from the club's VIP area, where she and her kin posed with their favourite players.
And fans were quick to gush over Lorraine's look, which was world's away from the usual appearance of her character Karen.
"Love your outfit Lorraine, where is it from? Enjoy your day," one follow wrote in the post's comment section.
Another added: "Loving your outfit, especially the trousers!"
A third continued: "Love your outfit!!! That colour really suits you xx"
But despite only ever showing her hair in her character's signature messy up-do when she's on-screen, it sees that Lorraine has donned several different hairstyles in real life over the last few years.
A throwback snap – posted when Paul O'Grady passed away earlier this year, but presumably taken some years earlier – showed the actress posing alongside the Liverpool funnyman, donning a choppy fringe and curly locks.
Another picture, posted in 2022 showed the Albert Square favourite wearing her hair in a middle parting, sporting a crimped mermaid-esque look.
