This Morning chef Clodagh shares close link to Royal Family in Queen tribute pic

This Morning chef Clodagh McKenna has shared her close link to the Royal family as she paid tribute to The Queen.

The Irish cookbook author and TV presenter, 47, took to Instagram to share a photo with her 229,000 followers as she announced she was taking a short break from social media out of respect.

Clodagh posted a black and white snap of her late father in law Henry Herbert, 7th Earl of Carnarvon – known as Lord Porchester – with Elizabeth II.

In a caption punctuated with black heart emojis, she wrote: "Hi everyone, I’m taking a wee break from social media in respect of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.

"Pictured here with my late father in law Lord Porchester. I’ll be back soon… Sending love to you all."

Lord Porchester was a personal friend of Queen Elizabeth for most of their lives and was appointed her racing manager from 1969 until his death in 2001.

Clodagh married one of his sons Harry Herbert, 63, a well-known figure in horse racing, last year.

Friends and followers flocked to the comment section on Clodagh's post to share their well-wishes.

One wrote: "There is such a lovely look of fun and friendship on the faces of The Queen and Harry’s father in this picture."

Another posted: "The friendship was deep and very real. I loved the times I spent in their delightful presence."

A third commented: "Lovely photo, you definitely take after him. God bless our Queen" and a fourth added "Wonderful Photo one to treasure".

Clodagh previously gushed to OK! about her other-half and revealed how "kind" he is.

She said: "There are so many things I love about him. Firstly, he is so handsome and he is the kindest person I have ever met in my life. He is so incredibly kind and that is what everybody says about him.

"He is really good fun and he loves cooking with me, gardening together, we love going out to restaurants, he loves going to parties. He is just a really fun person to be around and he is definitely my best friend."

Clodagh's close Royal Family connection comes after her colleague from This Morning, Holly Willoughby, spoke on Monday's show about how she was talking to her children about the Queen's death, including encouraging her children to write letters to the late monarch.

Many celebrities have posted tributes to The Queen, Britain's longest reigning monarch, since her death on 8 September.

Among them is Mike Tindall, husband of Her Majesty's granddaughter Zara, who has shared a heartbreaking image featuring a crying corgi.

This week, OK! celebrates the life of Her Majesty the Queen with a commemorative special in honour of Britain’s longest reigning monarch. Be sure to pick up your copy.
