EastEnders’ Kelsey Calladine-Smith shares emotional pics with co-stars ahead of soap exit

EastEnders' Kelsey Calladine-Smith has shared emotional snaps with her co-stars following her exit from the soap.

The young actress posted a series of behind the scene images on social media along with the caption: "My Eastenders experience has brought me nothing but smiles !!!"

Her character Jada Lennox can be seen posing next to show royalties James Bye (Martin Fowler), Danny Dyer (Mick Carter), Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell), Kellie Bright (Linda Carter), and Letitia Dean (Sharon Watts) as well as various crew members.

Kelsey made sure to give fans a peek backstage as well as cute snaps of the star in her makeup room and key locations on the EastEnders set such as the Chinese takeaway shop and Queen Vic.

The starlet appeared to have felt sentimental as there were moments where beamed while standing next to Watford favourites such as Phil Mitchell and Mick Carter and pulled a sad face while pointing to her former dressing room.

Kelsey even hugged a large EastEnders welcome sign where she could be seen with her arms wide open while wearing a red and white bomber jacket, tie-dye mini dress and black trainers.

Another shot sees her posting on a yellow bike with a large bouquet of farewell flowers from the cast before she strikes another playful pose in a snap outside a blue house on the square.

Kelsey joined the show last year and according to reports her exit scenes are expected to air soon as her character Jada Lennox in a scheming plot alongside Janine (Charlie Brooks) and Linda Carter.

News of her departure comes after sources reveal that more fan favourites will be exiting the show in a huge cast shake-up by EastEnders new boss Chris. This includes characters Ricky Champ (Stuart Highway), Dayle Hudson (Peter Beale) and Barbara Smith (Dana Monroe).

A source toldDigital Spy: "Whenever a new boss comes in, there's always going to be big changes and it's no different with Chris.

"He's been working hard behind the scenes since January and is really planning to shake things up, which means saying goodbye to some characters. It's nothing personal to any of the cast going, it's simply a creative decision – for big storylines to happen you have to say goodbye to people, that's the nature of soap."

The source continued: "Chris has some really big stories planned and viewers will see his stuff starting to air over the summer. He's really keen to take the show back to its roots, build up the clans again with some big explosive long-running stories.”
