‘Pray for me y’all!’ Conservative pundit Elisabeth Hasselbeck reveals she will be returning to The View next month as a guest co-host

Elisabeth Hasselbeck has been confirmed to be returning to The View in a guest co-host position three years after she quit the show. 

The news about the 45-year-old conservative pundit’s extended return to the program was confirmed by People on Thursday. 

The Daytime Emmy-winning performer also gave a statement to the media outlet to express her excitement about her future on the show, joking: ‘Pray for me y’all!’

Hasselbeck will be sure to stir up some lively debates on the panel as she is known for disagreeing with the likes of Joy Behar during their heated discussions on politics.

Hasselbeck stated Thursday: ‘It will be an honor to cohost The View, share our bestselling children’s book, Flashlight Night, and as always tackle hot topics!’

The reality television personality made a point of adding: ‘Pray for me y’all!’ 

She also shared a photo of the People article to her Instagram account and wrote a short message in her post’s caption that simply read: ‘It’s true!’

Hasselback initially began appearing on The View during its 7th season, which premiered in 2003.

The media figure was brought onto the show in an effort to replace former host Lisa Ling.

She then became notable for showcasing her conservative viewpoints about most issues during her time on the program, which set her apart from figures such as Joy Behar.

Hasselback received much attention after she engaged in a heated argument with Rosie O’Donnell regarding the war in Iraq in 2007.

The pair’s feud was worsened when the latter accused the reality television personality of not defending her in the media firestorm that followed the episode’s airing.

Hasselback eventually left the program after the end of its 16th season, which aired in 2013. 

The talk show host discussed her time on The View in her 2019 memoir, Point of View: A Fresh Look at Work, Faith, and Freedom, and expressed via People that her personal beliefs set her apart from many of her contemporaries.

‘Yes, there were bonds of friendship formed around the table despite opposing views, but there were also bonds broken because of those differing perspectives,’ she stated.

Hasselbeck also wrote that being one of the only conservative figures on the show took its toll on her mental health.

‘Like a fighter after ten rounds in a ring, I was exhausted from holding one side of the issue alone,’ she noted.

She did write, however, that she was grateful to the show’s creator, Barbara Walters, for her guidance and consideration. 

‘By the time I walked out of the building on that last day, I had three children, and thanks to her, a wealth of experience,’ she recalled. 

Hasselbeck is currently scheduled to make her return to The View on August 3.
