Emma Chamberlain's house really got us wishing we started that YouTube channel

For a lot of people, this week really is about learning about new people – first it was the Try Guys and now it’s Emma Chamberlain.

You’re welcome, dear reader.

However, we must warn you that should you be feeling any sort of insecurity around your current living situation because, oh, we don’t know, the financial apocalypse is apparently happening (perhaps a little dramatic, sure) then look away.

Or, don’t. And feast your eyes upon the simply aesthetically arousing pile of bricks Emma calls home.

Because Emma’s place has got a lot of people talking. Emphasis on a lot.

For those not too sure who Emma Chamberlain is and how this *checks notes* 21-year-old landed a house that looks like something out of the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood set, read on.

It’s YouTube. Naturally.

Dropping out of school, a then-teenage Emma launched her YouTube channel which went absolutely gangbusters. She was soon part of the so-called Sister Squad alongside James Charles and the Dolan Twins (all other YouTubers, don’t worry, you don’t have to remember their names today) and then Time was hailing her on its 2019 list of the 25 Most Influential People on the Internet. Now with 16million followers on Instagram, she is a big, big deal.

And evidently so, if she can afford such a home.

Plopped on the cover of the latest Architectural Digest, the host of the Anything Goes podcast took us through her LA pile, designed in collaboration with Ashley Drost and Marie Trohman of Proem Studio.

A pile that has been described as ‘chill’.

Mate, there is nothing chill about chain chandeliers and walls and ceilings lined in cork.

We sound bitter, don’t we? Well, we kind of are – this place is pretty darn amazing and really makes you wonder how one can jazz up a black-mould-infested, gardenless London flat.

From the drum kit in the living room, to the psychedelic mirror in her sprawling walk-in closet – with walls filled with an array of funky shoes – this woody (that’s an architectural term, we’re sure) house really is on another level.

The mint-green kitchen has multiple ovens (lol goes her energy bill) and marble cupboards and benchtops, just for a little hint of culinary je nais se quois.

Describing the living room, Emma said she expected not to use the space but the ‘weird’ thing is, ‘that’s not true’. Tell us more, Emma.

‘I actually hang out in here with my friends and we read books. Which is crazy because who reads books?!’

Kill us now.

But it’s the response to these images that might be more spellbinding than the actual house itself, with many a punter evidently having their life changed by gazing upon such a home. For better and/or worse.
