Emmerdale’s Matty plans to expose Suzy ‘He’s raging, he plants drugs on her’
Emmerdale actor Ash Palmisciano is best known for starring on the soap as his character Matty Barton and in a new chat, he has spoken about Matty's plan to have revenge on Suzy Merton – played by Martelle Edinborough, 35.
"He’s raging! He can’t [believe] his mum is so accepting of it," the 32 year old actor shares. "He wasn’t around when his sister was on drugs, so he’s got lots of guilt he’s projecting it into Suzy."
Ash – who plays the youngest child of John Barton and Moira Dingle – continues: "He sees what he thinks is a drug deal between Suzy and Callum – and thinks he can expose her to everyone.
"He ransacks Take A Vow office and finds this big bag full of drugs. So, he steals it and plants it in Suzy’s car then calls the police. But there is more to the story than Matty is aware of and it goes a bit wrong…"
When asked about the potential of Matty and Amy Wyatt going far with their relationship, Ash says he hopes they take it further as they are a "sweet couple".
"I would like to think so because they make such a sweet couple, and she is good support," he adds, before telling us he spends time with Natalie Ann Jamieson, who has played the role of Amy since she took over from Chelsea Halfpenny in 2019, and Natalie's boyfriend away from the cameras.
"I love working with Natalie Ann Jamieson – we live really close, so if we have a juicy scene coming up, we sit in the garden, have a cup of tea and go over it.
"I get on with her boyfriend and she gets on with my girlfriend, so it’s lovely."
Ash has been loved by Emmerdale fans since he began to appear on our tv screens, as he marks history for being the show's first transgender character.
He told Lorraine Kelly in a previous TV appearance that all of the cast have made him feel welcome since joining the soap in 2018.
"I went along and the next thing is them asking me if I want to audition. I was like, 'Yeah, fantastic! And here I am!'
“The crew was so welcoming and everyone introduced themselves and made me feel at home. It was lovely."
He explained: "[It was] way better than I could have hoped for.
"I was absolutely over the moon when I got the part – I couldn’t believe it."
Emmerdale airs on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday on ITV at 7.30pm
