England’s secret weapon? Three lions supporting Chesney Hawkes makes an appearance in Qatar as he prepares to perform at half-time during decisive clash with Wales
Chesney Hawkes was spotted ahead of his half-time performance during the England v Wales match at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar on Tuesday.
The singer, 51, didn’t shy away from supporting his beloved country and donned a three lions shirt as he larked around before the game.
Chesney appeared in high spirits as he chatted to members of the crew, before grabbing a selfie of himself in front of the pitch.

The one hit wonder, also donned a pair of blacking jogging trousers and slicked his blonde locks to one side.
He completed the look with a selection of wooden bracelets and wore his credentials across his body.
Speaking on Tuesday’s TalkSport he said about the performance: ‘They asked me to do it, what am I gonna say? This is the first stadium gig I’ve done in 30 years.’

He went on to confirm that he would indeed be performing his 90s hit The One And Only.
‘I’m a little nervous, but I’m just more excited. It’s just the one song and no guessing for what song I’m going to do. I could probably sing that song in my sleep’.

It comes after many stars have refused to perform in the country due to their human rights records, including Dua Lipa, Rod Stewart and Shakira.
England will be looking to improve on their lacklustre draw against the United States as they seek the win that would send them into the World Cup last-16 as group winners.
Three points against Wales will be enough for them to claim top spot in Group B, while a point will be enough to progress, but they also need to improve on their showing in Friday’s stalemate with the USA – where Gareth Southgate’s side were heavily criticised following a poor performance.
Wales, meanwhile, are on the brink of elimination following a 2-0 defeat by Iran. They must now defeat England, and if it isn’t by at least four goals Rob Page’s side must also hope that Iran and USA play out a draw.
