George Lopez & Eva Longoria to Reunite for New ‘Alexander & The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day’ Movie (Report)

Disney is making another Alexander and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day movie adaptation!

Longtime friends George Lopez and Eva Longoria have been tapped to star in the upcoming Latino-centric version, based on the Judith Viorst book, THR reports.

In this version, we’ll see “a Mexican-American family who have recently lost their connection to each other and their roots, as they embark on an epic road trip that immediately goes hilariously wrong.”

Eva will play Alexander’s mom, “a travel writer who has lost her passion for work,” and George will play the family’s grandfather, a tough biker.

Gentified co-creator and showrunner Marvin Lemus is set to direct, while Matt Lopez wrote the script. Matt recently penned the Father of the Bride remkae for HBO Max and Clifford the Big Red Dog, as well as Disney movies The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Race to Witch Mountain and Bedtime Stories.

Shawn Levy‘s 21 Laps will produce with The Jim Henson Company.

The pic is being intended for Disney+ and looking to start production in the Spring in New Mexico.

If you recall, the book has previously been adapted into a Disney movie back in 2014, with Shawn Levy producing that one as well. It starred Jennifer Garner, Steve Carrell, Ed Oxenbould, Dylan Minnette, Bella Thorne and Kerris Dorsey, and is available to stream on Disney+. Check out the trailer below…
