Grammy Awards viewers left outraged as Aaron Carter is left out of memoriam tribute

Social media users have hit out at the Grammy’s after the awards show seemingly left out a tribute to the late Aaron Carter.

This year’s star-studded ceremony saw notable moments like Trevor Noah mocking Prince Harry, Beyonce becoming the biggest winner in history, and Harry Styles winning best album against the likes of Adele.

Sadly, the late Aaron Carter, who is also the brother of Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter, was omitted from the lengthy tribute list, which has sparked some backlash from fans.

Host Trevor Noah said: “You know, when you look at it, music is made up of four key elements: Rhythm, beats, melody, and harmony.

“And I've been thinkig about that last one a lot this past year, harmony. Different notes coming together in a moment to make something more beautiful.'

“Now, we would like to take a moment to remember some of the great people in music we lost this year and reflect on all of the light they brought into our lives.”

The tributes included Christine McVie, Loretta Lynn, Takeoff, David Crosby, Naomi Judd, Olivia Newton-John, Jeff Beck, Ramsey Lewis, Lisa Marie Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Fred E. White.

Anita Pointer, Coolio, Irene Cara, Hurricane G, Stephen 'tWitch' Boss, Ronnie Hawkins, Andrew Fletcher, Vangelis and Jim Seals were also featured in the in-memorium section of the show.

Reacting to the snub on Twitter, one fan wrote: “The #GRAMMYs left #aaroncarter off the “in memoriam” tribute?!? That’s f****d up. Aaron Carter walked so #JustinBieber could fly-that’s incredibly disappointing.”

“Why Aaron Carter left out of the in memoriam at the 2023 Grammys?” another added, as a third said, “Very disrespectful to leave Aaron Carter out. Oh well this happens every year…”

Someone else chimed in: “Yeah I’m so upset right now about this!!!! Like why was Aaron not included!!!"

Tmz broke the news of Aaron’s death last year when they revealed he’d been found dead on Saturday November 5 at his house in Lancaster, California.

A representative from Aaron’s team said: "We are extremely saddened and shocked to confirm the passing of Aaron Carter today.

"At the moment his cause of death is being investigated. We ask that you give the family time and they will have more information when available. We cannot express the outpouring of love coming in."

His sad death sparked Nick’s touching tribute alongside Aaron’s ex-girlfriend, Hilary Duff before the Backstreet Boy was videoed breaking down during a concert.

Last month, after police revealed that Aaron hadn’t drowned, his mother, Jane Carter, and partner, Melanie Martin, claimed that Aaron had experienced an overdose, according to the Mail Online.
