Last month, the Palace confirmed that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation alone – with the Duchess remaining in California with the couple’s two children.

The coronation service at Westminster Abbey will mark the first time in eight months that Charles will be seen publicly with William, the heir to the throne, and Harry, fifth in line to the throne.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s “wish for reconciliation” with members of the Royal Family may be in doubt but Russell Kane is wishing the best for all parties involved.

However, he wondered if Meghan’s absence from King Charles’s Coronation could cause further discontent.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, he said: “I think it would have been nice to have them both here. Weddings, funerals, coronations, put your differences aside. That’s what we do in my family.”

He continued: “I just think events like that – put things aside. Unless it’s her choice, then you’ve got to respect that.”

“They have gone quite far now. They are where there are,” Russell shared, in reference to the couple’s move to the US.

Meghan and Harry stepped down from their roles as working royals in 2020 and have moved to Montecito, California.

The comic is hopeful that in the future everyone will be able to reconcile despite the “family fallout”.

He commented: “I’m just a people pleaser. I would like for everyone to get on. I don’t like any family fallout. That’s how I feel about the royals. I wish they could all make up.”

Harry’s trip to the UK could possibly only last about 24 hours, as he is expected to attend the coronation and then leave shortly afterward to return home to his family, according to ABC News royal contributor Omid Scobie.

It comes as the coronation ceremony coincides with the birthday of his son Prince Archie, who will be turning four years old.

The last time the family of four visited the UK was in June 2022. The couple bought both of their children over to the UK to celebrate the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It marked Lilibet’s first, and only, visit to the UK.

King Charles will be crowned at Westminster Abbey today and the UK will get to enjoy an extra bank holiday weekend.
