Harry Landis dead: EastEnders and Friday Night Dinner actor dies age 90

Channel 4 actor Harry Landis, who was best known for his role in Channel 4 sitcom Friday Night Dinner has passed away at the age of 90, his agent has confirmed.

The star, who played Mr. Morris on the hit show, passed away on Monday.

The announcement made by his agent at Sharry Clark Artists read: "Sad news. Our lovely client Harry Landis has passed to spirit," she wrote in a post on Facebook.

"Harry had an amazing career and gained a new following in later life as Mr Morris in Friday Night Dinner. It was a privilege to have worked with him as a client.

"Harry you will be sadly missed. RIP."

The actor became a household name during his role as a grumpy Mr. Morris – grandma's new boyfriend – on the popular sitcom.

Following the news, former Friday Night Dinner co-star, Tracy-Ann Oberman, paid a gushing tribute on Twitter, writing: "Bloody loved #HarryLandis. I am so sorry to hear of his passing," she wrote.

Harry had also become a name in soap land, and made a brief appearances in EastEnders as Felix Kawalski for two years.

In 2014, Harry starred in the Hollywood blockbuster Edge of Tomorrow. He also starred in Bitter Victory, Edge of Sanity, Ransom, The Informers, Private Potter, Dunkirk and Operation Bullshine.
