Helen Flanagan ‘plans epic return to Coronation Street next year’ – following her ‘split’ from fiancé Scott Sinclair

Helen Flanagan is ‘planning an epic return to Coronation Street next year’ – following her ‘split’ from fiancé Scott Sinclair.

The actress, 32, who is best known for playing Rosie Webster in the ITV soap, quit the show in 2018 when she welcomed her third child with long-term partner Scott.

A source told The Sun Helen has been ‘missing’ her soap family and playing the character, and with nothing holding her back she feels now could be the perfect time for a return.

Comeback: Soap star Helen Flanagan is ‘planning an epic return to Coronation Street next year’

The source said: ‘Helen’s talking about plans to return – not this year, but maybe late next year.

‘Bosses have made it clear they’d welcome her back and she sees the soap cast as family.

The insider added: ‘What was stopping her before was looking after her kids and Scott’s football career – she never knew where he’d sign next or where they’d live.

‘But now she’s single she’s talking a lot about going back to Corrie – she hasn’t had any official meetings yet but it’s something she’s talking about.’

The actress was on the soap for more then two decades after being cast in her role as Rosie Webster at just ten years old.

MailOnline have contacted Helen’s representatives for comment.

Split: It comes after she reportedly split from her fiancé Scott Sinclair because her engagement ring snapped and she felt it was a bad omen

It comes after she reportedly split from her fiance Scott Sinclair because her engagement ring snapped and she felt it was a bad omen.

Helen and the professional footballer, 33, recently broke off their engagement and the news was revealed last week.

An insider has claimed that when Helen’s ring broke she looked for guidance from a psychic medium because she believed the incident was a ‘sign’.

The source told the Sun: ‘Helen’s engagement ring snapped earlier this year. She’s into all things spiritual and had a feeling so she sought guidance from a psychic medium.

‘Helen and Scott really tried to work on their relationship but ultimately she saw the ring breaking as a bad omen and one that meant she shouldn’t get married.’

Helen was out over the weekend pushing her drama aside as she celebrated Halloween weekend with pals amid the break-up.

During the week she dropped a major hint about her state of mind on Instagram on Wednesday following the split.

Sharing some glamorous shots of herself wearing an ornate blue corseted mini dress, she wrote: ‘Keep it classy always @lavishalice.

Helen is yet to publicly address the rumours that she has broken up with her footballer partner, the father of her three children, after a 13-year romance.

However she did share a cryptic post back in August about starting ‘a new chapter’ where she was pictured not wearing her engagement ring for the first time.

Concern had been raised for Helen’s relationship with Bristol Rovers footballer beau Scott, after it is claimed the relationship was ‘on the rocks’.

And it seems she has referenced new beginnings over two months ago on her Instagram page, where she shared snaps of her with her children celebrating her birthday – but with no ring in sight.

On August 9, Helen captioned the post to her 1million followers: ‘Lovely weekend celebrating my 32nd birthday and a new chapter.’

Helen was also pictured not wearing her engagement ring last Monday as she arrived ahead of the Pride Of Britain Awards, nor while she was on the red carpet.

She hasn’t publicly worn her diamond ring for a month, including at the National Television Awards last week and at Jorgie Porter’s baby shower on Sunday.

The couple have apparently spent considerable time apart since the summer due to Scott building up his fitness with Chelsea at their training ground in Cobham, Surrey.

Last week, Scott sealed a move back to his boyhood club Bristol Rovers until the end of the season, after he was released by Preston North End, meaning he will likely be living 180 miles away from the family home in Cheshire.

Helen’s representative declined to comment when approached by MailOnline.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Helen and Scott have endured a testing few months.

‘Uncertainty over Scott’s footballing career and the fact they haven’t been able to spend much quality time together has put a strain on their relationship.

‘The children are their world and main priority, and they will always ensure nothing affects them.

‘Helen has been putting herself out there, it’s very much business as usual in her career and she won’t allow issues in her personal life to bring her down.’
