Helen Flanagan talks going back into work and future Corrie return after Scott ‘split’

Helen Flanagan has teased the prospect of returning to her role as Rosie Webster on Coronation Street.

The Corrie favourite quit the soap in 2018, and after her reported split from her fiancé Scott Sinclair, Helen spoke to OK! about her hopes of getting back into work with two projects lined up for next year.

"I've got something exciting happening next year, but I can't say anything more," she told OK! on the red carpet at 2022's ITV Palooza. "It's two things actually, but I can't say too much. I'm excited for next year actually."

Speaking of the idea of returning to the Cobbles, Helen, 33, said: "I would love to go back to Coronation Street, it's just really tricky.

"My little boy is only one, and boys are so much needier than girls. My girls are so understanding and chilled out. My little boy will not be put down. He literally hugs me, really cute, and then he screams if I put him down."

She continued: "I don't think the children are ready for me to commit to something like Coronation Street right now. But I would like to in the future."

Helen previously told us that "everything revolves around the children" when her future work projects are concerned.

"I recently did an acting workshop with [former Waterloo Road actor] Reece Donnelly. It was the first time I’d left Charlie since he was born," she told us last year.

"I do really miss Coronation Street and I’d love to get back into acting properly again when the time comes. But everything revolves around the children now. They’re my priority. It’s just the way it is."

Helen also admitted that she felt "really bad" having to leave her three children – Matilda, seven, Delilah, four, and two year old Charlie – for one night, even though they were spending time with their grandma.

"I came up today but as soon as I was on the train, I got mum guilt I was even away and I was thinking: 'Oh Helen!'" she said.

"You do if you've got kids, if you leave them for just one night you think: 'I feel really bad!' But they’re with their grandma tonight."

Helen is believed to be single after it was reported that Helen removed her engagement ring in September.

It was also alleged that the actress told "those close to her" she's no longer in a relationship with Scott.

“Helen has removed her engagement ring and told those close to her that she is no longer with Scott," a source told the Sun.

"They hit a rough patch in the summer and after Helen came back from South Africa it ended for good."

“Helen and Scott have committed to co-parenting their kids as a family unit," they added.

OK! contacted representatives for Helen and Scott at the time.
