Holly Willoughby pens Father’s Day post as Schofield’s daughters remain silent
Holly Willoughby’s This Morning statement
Holly Willoughby, 42, was one of many celebrities who yesterday paid tribute to their dads as she shared a rare snap of her father on social media on Sunday to mark Father’s Day.
The This Morning presenter recently made headlines as news of her long-term friend and former colleague Phillip Schofield’s affair with a younger male colleague came to light and he subsequently stepped down from the show.
Holly, 42, gushed in a heartfelt tribute on Instagram in view of her 8.3 million followers, writing: “Dad… We all love you so much… so lucky to have you… Happy Father’s Day.”
The snap showed Terry Willoughby beaming in her back garden, while affectionately petting her cat Bluebell and dog Bailey.
The Dancing On Ice presenter’s post is in stark contrast to her former co-host Phillip, 61, whose daughters Molly May, 29, and Ruby, 27, who he shares with his wife of 30 years, Stephanie Lowe, have maintained their silence on social media since their father’s exit from This Morning and ITV.
Phil announced he was leaving the show on May 20 and later went on to walk away from the channel completely.
In a statement shared less than a week from his exit from the daytime TV show he hosted for two decades, Phil said: “In an effort to protect my ex-colleague, I haven’t been truthful about the relationship.
“But my recent, unrelated, departure from This Morning fuelled speculation and raised questions which have been impacting him, so for his sake it is important for me to be honest now.
“I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public and most importantly of all to my family.

“I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife,” he added.
“I have therefore decided to step down from the British Soap Awards, my last public commitment, and am resigning from ITV with immediate effect expressing my immense gratitude to them for all the amazing opportunities that they have given me.”
Phillip’s eldest daughter is said to have found out about his affair just minutes before the news became public.
According to MailOnline, the star’s eldest heard the news while she was at work – at YMU, the talent agency that manages a wealth of ITV personalities and, up until recently, her dad.
Molly has worked there for the last eight years and states on her LinkedIn page she started in 2015 as a PA and Social Talent Assistant Manager before landing her current role.

Ruby, 27, on the other hand, has a degree from Leeds Beckett University, where she received a 2:1 degree in Psychology.
Recently, Phillip shared a photo of the pair enjoying themselves on a sunny afternoon – with youngest child Ruby rocking a strappy top and flashing a huge smile to the camera while sporting a small pair of hoop earrings.
In the snap, Phillip looked in happier spirits in a blue shirt and pair of sunglasses, and he wrote a gorgeous tribute to his daughter, as he penned: “Happy birthday @rubyschofe. You are the sunshine in all our lives.”
He also added two sticker images to the post. One read: “Happy birthday,” in multicoloured letters, and another said: “Love you to the moon and back,” with the word moon replaced by a cartoon image of one.
