How Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Feel About King Charles Evicting Them

Looks like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to leave Frogmore Cottage with their tails tucked between their legs.

In case you missed it, last week a bombshell dropped that King Charles has evicted Harry and Meghan from their UK home — with plans to force Prince Andrew to downsize! An insider revealed to People Buckingham Palace issued an eviction notice to officially rid any trace of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from the home shortly after the release of Harry’s memoir Spare:

“We can confirm The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage.”

The 5-bedroom property was originally gifted to them by Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding gift, but would be moved out of after some pricy renovations when the couple made their grand exit to Canada and then California. After they left, Harry lent the property to Princess Eugenie and her hubby Jack Brooksbank. Due to the fact the Harry & Meghan stars renewed the lease on the cottage, it really seemed like they planned to keep it!

Well, plans were foiled! The Duke and Duchess were kicked to the curb and Andrew was offered the keys — although he’s retaliating against leaving his cozy stay at the Royal Lodge with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. Messy, messy, messy!

Harry and Meghan aren’t putting up the same fight as the disgraced royal, though. According to an insider for the outlet this week, they’re pretty “matter-of-fact” about the situation. The source said the 41 and 38-year-old parents are pleased to raise their children in California — their only worry is security. They call the situation “unfortunate,” as the home in Windsor was a safe haven for 3-year-old Archie and 1-year-old Lilibet.

This change is definitely going to make things more complicated if Harry and Meghan ever want to visit the UK for funerals or important events — such as the upcoming coronation they’ve officially been invited to. It’s going to be hard to visit for the ceremony if they have nowhere to stay! Which, their official decision has been placed on a back burner for now. A rep for the couple told The Sunday Times recently:

“An immediate decision on whether The Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.”

Oof.

Harry and Meghan seem to be fine with staying in the US to raise their kids and putting royal duties behind them — but we can’t help but wonder how they feel about Andrew being the one to stick around. Do U think they’ll end up going to the coronation or was this the nail in the coffin to finally break ties with the royal life? Let us know in the comments (below)!
