Paralympian Jody Alan Cundy to join Strictly Come Dancing
Strictly Come Dancing star Jody Cundy proposed to his girlfriend Lucy Bowles during a trip to New York last year.
The cyclist got down on one knee at the top of the Empire State Building during golden hour – and thankfully, she said yes.
Jody, 44, gave fans an insight into the special moment on his Instagram page back in November, in view of his 3,175 followers.
The gold medallist was pictured cosying up to his new wife-to-be as they beamed for the camera.
In a reel, shared a month later, Jody also included a glimpse of the engagement ring as well as a video of him kissing his new fiancée on the cheek.

Little is known about Jody’s wife-to-be as she leads a life outside of the public eye.
He did, however, mention her again in a candid post about his personal struggles back in January.
The cyclist listed a number of things including financial and fitness struggles, problems with an ex-partner and worries about his future, as he told fans he was at his “lowest”.
As part of the lengthy caption, he added: “I love my fiancée to the moon and back, I love my family and I love my sport, but now I’m finding it impossible to give them the love they deserve.”
Jody also said he couldn’t “find peace and happiness” within himself and hoped to find his way “back to the old me”.
In an interview earlier this month with BBC Sport, he reflected on his words and said he was “on the way up” after receiving support.
The gold medallist will take to the Strictly dance floor amongst 14 other celebrities in the brand-new series which kicks off next month.
Those also in the running to win the Glitterball Trophy are: Amanda Abbington, Angela Rippon, Layton William, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Eddie Kadi, Angela Scanlon, Zara McDermott, Adam Thomas, Nikita Kanda, Ellie Leach, Bobby Brazier, Nigel Harman, Annabel Croft and Les Dennis.
The cyclist admits the show is “so far away” from what he’s used to, but that he was “looking forward to the challenge”.
