A woman has revealed the storage unit that held all of her personal belongings unexpectedly closed down while she was on vacation.

Tennessee-based content creator Halle took to TikTok to share her shock at discovering all of her items had been moved while she was in Europe. 

In a viral video, which has so far amassed more than 480,000 views, she revealed that the storage company she had been keeping her belongings at shut down. 

And, because she had missed a few payments, Halle assumed the company auctioned off her items without giving her any notice.

‘When you’re in a different country and come to the realization that there’s a strong chance your two storage units were auctioned off,’ she captioned the clip. 

‘I’m in France and I just noticed that the Air Tags that are with all of my things that are in storage and have been in storage for the last nine months have moved. So, I tried to call the company and say, “Hey, why’d you guys move my stuff?” But, they did a fun little thing,’ she said at the beginning of the video. 

The content creator revealed the storage unit was now listed on Google as ‘permanently closed.’

She added that both the phone number and email previously listed for the company were no longer in service.

In a follow-up video, she admitted that was behind on her payments, although she didn’t think it would cause her items to go missing.

‘One thing I did fail to mention is that I was delinquent on my payments,’ she said.

Halle added: ‘[The company] had issues with their payment platform back in April, so I had emailed them to set up auto pay, but they didn’t answer my emails or calls and so I emailed them back in July but time got away from me, I didn’t see them closing or auctioning off my things.’

She explained that she did contact the police, but they ‘didn’t care’ that she was trying to contact the company.

She added that they said in the eyes of the law she didn’t pay and as per her contract the storage unit company had a legal right to sell her items.

It’s unclear how many months Halle didn’t pay and what her contract said.

And while she thought her items had been sold off, she later revealed that she was able to track down the people who were now responsible for her stored items.

She said she got ‘lucky’ after the exhaustive search.

Despite Halle’s confession, people on the web flooded the comments, pushing her to fight to get her things back, but others slammed her for not paying

At the end of another video, she added: ‘PSA! Read your contracts and make sure you are on auto pay.’

One person said: ‘If you made the effort to reach out and nobody responded I would say you still have some sort of rights to your belongings.’

Another user added: ‘I’d contact a law firm. You sound like you have a paper trail of attempts to pay.’

However, others slammed her for complaining when was the one who didn’t pay. 

One person said: ‘I knew it. As I listened to the first video I knew you had to be delinquent.’

‘Lol she posted that entire first video and totally didn’t mention she hasn’t paid for months,’ someone else wrote. 

‘Yeah that’s on you girl. I’ve come close to losing my stuff and they will work with you as long as you contact them within a week,’ another added. 

Luckily, the content creator didn’t need to use any of the advice because she did get her items back.
