Jackass star Steve-O beats himself up over ghosting ex Stacey Solomon
Jackass's Steve-O has revealed that he "still beats himself up" over his split with Stacey Solomon.
The stunt-performer, 48, and Stacey, 33, dated back in 2015 after meeting on Channel 4's The Jump.
However, Steve-O has revealed in a new autobiography, A Hard Kick In The Nuts, that he ghosted his former girlfriend weeks after the two moved in together.
“I was smitten, I lavished her with attention, I got what I wanted and then I broke it off. I had become not only part of her life, I’d become part of her kids’ lives too. And then — poof — I was gone," he said.
At the time Stacey only had sons Zachary, who was born in 2008, and Leighton, who was born in 2012.
The Loose Women host is now married to presenter and former EastEnders actor Joe Swash, 40. The two share son Rex, three, and daughter Rose, one, together.
During his relationship with Stacey, Steve-O was battling a sex addiction and had previously had issues with alcohol and drugs.
He admitted that he had a habit of suddenly ending relationships with people.
Steve-O said: "I’d meet some woman, pour on the charm to convince her I really cared about her (which I invariably thought I did) sleep with her a few times, then lose interest and ghost. Wash, rinse, repeat.”
Stating that he was wrong to leave Stacey however, he wrote: "To this day, I still beat myself up about the way it went down.
“Ironically, I don’t think Stacey does. We aren’t in touch any more, but she has corresponded with my family and seems to bear no ill toward me.
“She seems to be a happy person who can go through life without gigantic grudges, even when they might be totally justified. What a freak.”
Steve-O is now engaged to stylist Lux Wright. The marriage will be the star's third after he was married to Candy-Jane Tucker from 2002 to 2003 and Brittany Mcgraw from 2006 to 2008.
Lux first slid into Steve-O's DMs after they met at a photoshoot in 2017.
Speaking on Steve-O’s Wild Ride! podcast, she said: “I was so impressed with his overall awareness with everything that was going on during the shoot. I mean, everything."
She added: “And how he handled it, how dedicated he was to filming … It was impressive.”
