Jamie Foxx lands first gig since hospitalisation as daughter gives health update
Jamie Foxx, 55, confirmed he is set to host guessing game show We Are Family following his health “complications” that landed him in the hospital last month.
The new series will launch in 2024 and will see non-famous family members of well-known faces performing duets with their celebrity relatives.
The studio audience will be formed of 100 contestants who will try to guess which celebrity the performer is related to before they are revealed, in a bid to win a whopping $100,000.
The news comes after Foxx was replaced by guest host Nick Cannon for the latest season of Beat Shazam following his health ailment.
We Are Family, which was created by the team at Fox Alternative Entertainment, will be co-produced with Beat Shazam producer Apploff Entertainment.
Foxx and his daughter, Corinne, 29, confirmed their involvement in the new programme via a joint statement.
The statement read: “We are thrilled to be developing We Are Family with Jeff Apploff and our friends at Fox Entertainment after so much success with six seasons of Beat Shazam.
“We hope this show brings as much fun to audiences at home as we’ve had creating it when it premieres next year.”
Allison Wallach, President of Unscripted Programming, of Fox Entertainment, said: “Jamie and Corinne are important partners to the Fox family.
“Their boundless energy and charming interplay with contestants are irresistible, which make them the perfect hosts of We Are Family.

Corinne last week took to social media to respond to claims her dad was still in hospital, sharing a screenshot of a false headline as she revealed the Django star “has been out of the hospital for weeks”.
On her Instagram story, Corrine wrote: “Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild.
“My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday.”
In the post, Corinne also teased the new project, saying: “We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”
