Jonathan Majors lawyer claims proof of innocence after new claims

Jonathan Majors, who has been hit with more allegations since his arrest last month, has filed fresh evidence showing his “proof of innocence” over the alleged attack.

The actor, 33, was arrested and charged with several accounts of assault on March 25 following a criminal complaint written by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

At the time of the alleged attack, Majors’s now ex-girlfriend Jabbari claimed the argument left her with a laceration behind her ear, as well as an injured hand.

However, Priya Chaudhry, Majors’s lawyer, has now filed new video evidence supposedly showing the accuser uninjured and out drinking the same evening of the claimed assault.

Chaundry has also pointed to first-responder bodycam footage she claims shows officers “coaching” the woman through her account of what happened.

She wrote in the court document, which was filed on Wednesday: “Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not abused anyone.

“We have provided irrefutable evidence to the district attorney that the charges are false.

“We are confident that he will be fully exonerated.”

The filing contained four screenshots of the alleged video evidence cited by the attorney.

Ahead of the Marvel actor’s May 8 court appearance, Variety has reported that other alleged abuse victims are now co-operating with the District Attorney.

The District Attorney’s office declined to comment on that report, the outlet said.

Majors was arrested after police responded to a 911 call from a woman in an apartment building in New York City.

The woman was transported to a local hospital with what police said were minor injuries to her head and neck.

At the end of last month, following his arraignment, Majors’ legal team released a screenshot of unverified text messages allegedly sent between the actor and accuser hours after the arrest.

The text allegedly read: “They assured me that you won’t be charged. They said they had to arrest you as protocol when they saw the injuries on me and they knew we had a fight.

“I’m so angry that they did. And I’m sorry you’re in this position. Will make sure nothing happens about this. I told them it was my fault for trying to grab your phone. I only just got out of the hospital.

“I also said to tell the judge to know that the origin of the [911] call was to do with me collapsing and passing out and your worry as my partner due to our prior communication.”

Following the allegations, Majors has been dropped by his management and publicity firms and cut from several film projects.

After contacting representatives for comment and clarification, Priya Chaudhry told Express.co.uk: “Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not abused anyone. We have provided irrefutable evidence to the District Attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated.”
