Kate Ferdinand says fans worked out was pregnant before announcement as she shows off bump

Kate Ferdinand has shared a stunning new bump picture as she opens up about her current pregnancy.

The mum-of-one shared the joyful news on Sunday, 29 January, that she’s expecting her second child with Rio Ferdinand, 44, after the pair suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage last year.

The pair already share two year old son Cree together.

Kate, 31, has now gone into more detail about her pregnancy in the most recent episode of her podcast, Blended, and admitted that a lot of her fans had already worked out that she was expecting.

“A lot of you knew – I’d been getting a load of messages from people saying you’re definitely pregnant, you haven’t been going to the gym as much,” Kate explained.

“You were right but I didn’t want to announce it too early after what happened last time with the miscarriage. And now we’re going to have five children! OMG seriously when I say that out loud, it frightens me.”

Kate, who is step-mum to Rio’s three kids Lorenz, Tia and Tate, went on: “We’re so excited, it’s such a blessing!

“In my last pregnancy when I had a miscarriage I moaned all the time, and then when the miscarriage happened I felt terrible for moaning – I felt so ungrateful.

“Not sure Rio would agree but I feel like I’ve moaned a lot less this time and I’m just grateful that everything is going okay so far but I am ravenous. I am so hungry and cannot stop eating. I wasn’t like this when I was pregnant with Cree.

“Now I’m in the second trimester, I had four days of feeling absolutely amazing but then I got shingles.”

While fans have noticed she hasn’t been sharing her usual gym workouts, the former TOWIE star said she’s still been keeping active and has been going to the gym and enjoying pilates.

Kate’s fans weren’t the only ones to have worked out her pregnancy as she shared that her step-son Tate, 14, worked it out for himself as well.

“We told them at Christmas because I love a little drink at dinner and my clothes were getting tight – my body has stretched a little quicker this time,” she said.

“Tate sat us down about four weeks before when Rio was at the World Cup and he said, ‘I’ve got an announcement to make and he goes: ‘I know you’re pregnant!’ I was flustered and I didn’t want to tell the kids just in case. I said no I’m not.

“From that moment on he has been on me.”

Kate went on to quip: “Teenage kids – you can’t really.”

Kate and Rio have been inundated with congratulations from their celeb pals in the wake of their happy news.
