Kate Middleton’s uncles £3k hair transplant leaves him with blood all over head
Kate Middleton's uncle has revealed he had a £3,000 hair transplant that left him covered in blood.
Gary Goldsmith, 57, who is the younger brother of her mother Carole Middleton, got the procedure done at a Harley Street clinic.
Speaking to The Mail on Sunday, he said: "I was on a flight with no hat on with blood all over my head. People were asking if I was alright, it was very funny."
Kate's uncle has been very vocal about undergoing the procedure.
"Do you know what, f**k it, I'm coming out. I want the world to know. I just think too many people don't really talk about it," he said.
"It's good to be open. I didn't want people to think I'm a pompous t***, I wanted to just be really honest about it."
During the procedure, Gary's hair follicles were taken from the back of his head and put in the front of his scalp.
He explained: "Before I had even sat down in my chair, [the doctor] said, 'Alright, let's face facts here G, you're trying to re-turf Wembley and all you've got is a couple of window boxes, so I don't know what you're expecting, but let's see what we can do'."
Gary didn't wash his hair for a week to prevent the new hair from being removed.
The 57 year old had to sport a red hairline as he recovered in Ibiza.
"At first I couldn't get in the pool, I couldn't go in the sun, I couldn't do anything," he said. "But I proper owned it and went out to restaurants."
He added: "It's not like a vanity project, it's not about trying to change me.
"But I think for a lot of people it might boost their self confidence, or their inner self, or it might be that that might be their crowning glory."
Gary's niece recently announced that she and Prince William will be moving to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.
In a statement, Kensington Palace said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have today announced that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will attend Lambrook School in Berkshire from September 2022.
“Their Royal Highnesses are hugely grateful to Thomas’s Battersea where George and Charlotte have had a happy start to their education since 2017 and 2019 respectively and are pleased to have found a school for all three of their children which shares a similar ethos and values to Thomas’s.”
