Kerry Katona ‘cries her eyes out’ as she misses daughter’s school play due to work

Kerry Katona has revealed she "cried her eyes out" after missing out on a special moment with her eight-year-old daughter Dylan-Jorge.

The former Atomin Kitten star, 42, is currently in panto rehearsals, meaning she's away from home. Writing in her weekly column, Kerry admitted she's had an "emotional week" after being unable to make it to DJ's school play. Sign up – for free – to see what she has to say.

Missing home

I’ve had an emotional week as I’m really missing being at home with Ryan and the kids. Max is having a difficult time at school so it’s hard not being around for that. And then I missed out on a play DJ did at her school.

I was sent videos of her dancing and she looked so cute. I cried my eyes out because I felt so sad that I wasn’t there with her.

It’s the run-up to Christmas and I want to be spending time with them all. I want to be doing festive things like Elf On The Shelf with DJ, as it’s such a magical time for her. I feel like I’m missing out on special moments. As soon as she finishes school for Christmas, she’ll come to panto and stay with me.

She loves watching it and she loves being a part of it. Ryan is also going to come for a couple of days. I can’t wait to have them here. This will definitely be my last panto for a while as I really want to spend next year at home.

Body struggles

We’re having lots of fun in panto rehearsals, but it’s bloody hard work. I’ve got a bad back and hip at the moment –

I feel like an old woman wobbling around! They’re problems I’ve had for years. I need to get a really good chiropractor and get it sorted, so I’m looking into that.

I don’t know what’s going on with my body. As I told you last week, I’m really swollen and it hasn’t got any better. I ended up going to A&E as I was so worried about it. They’ve told me that they need to investigate further. So for now, my doctor at Pall Mall Cosmetics has given me some water tablets which will hopefully help with the swelling.

I’m really looking forward to having my corrective surgery with them – and my eyelid lift. I’ve now had my consultation about my eyelid lift, so bring it on!

A jam packed 2023

I had so much fun on the Back Then When podcast with Leigh Francis and Lucie Cave. I received so many nice messages after it came out last week.

It’s very funny. If you haven’t given it a listen yet, please do! I’ve known Leigh for about 22 years now – and I love him. I’m so grateful for all of the work opportunities coming my way. My schedule is already fully booked for next year! I’m doing a Lunch & Laughs Live tour, which is in March and April.

It’s a live panel with other names including Claire Sweeney, Helen Lederer, Linda Nolan and more! I’m looking forward to that one. I have some more really exciting things happening in 2023, which I can’t announce just yet. But I can’t stop pinching myself. As it’s going to be so full-on, I’m taking the whole of January off to just chill out and relax.

Cara's climax

Cara Delevingne has donated her orgasm to science as she researches the gender climax gap in her new show Planet Sex With Cara Delevingne. She gave researchers a sample of her blood before reaching climax and then afterwards for them to examine.

I find that interesting, but also a bit bizarre. I don’t know whether I’d do that myself, but good for Cara! She’s taken one for the team by giving her orgasm to science, and hopefully they can let all of us women know how to keep up with men in the bedroom. It’s not fair – it’s usually all over for blokes after 30 seconds and then they roll over and go to sleep!
