Kerry Katona reveals daughter Lilly-Sue had to replace her in panto due to injury

Kerry Katona has told how her daughter Lilly "saved the day" and took over at panto after she fell off stage and injured her foot.

Kerry and Lilly, 19, starred alongside each other in Cinderella at the New Theatre Royal Lincoln over the festive period. But "amazing" Lilly stepped into her mum's role after Kerry was forced to have some time out due to her accident.

"I’ve been enjoying some downtime since the panto ended, but I suffered an injury on stage during the last show," Kerry explained.

"I was walking off the wings and I fell down a platform after tripping over. I really hurt my foot. I was crying in pain. It was a three-day show and it happened during the second show, so my Lilly stepped in for me and – oh my God – she was amazing."

Writing in her weekly column, she continued: "She literally had five minutes to get changed and get on stage. I was blown away by her. Thank God she was able to save the day!"

Kerry then called for Lilly to do more acting work, saying: "She needs to do more of this. If anyone wants someone for panto, call me and I’ll send Lilly your way!"

Kerry played the role of Ugly Sister Botox, while Lilly played Baby Botox.

Kerry shares Lilly with ex-husband Brian McFadden, and the former couple are also parents to Molly, 21. Kerry is also mum to Heidi, 15, and Max, 14, with ex Mark Croft, and eight-year-old Dylan-Jorge with the late George Kay.

Kerry previously opened up about her time in panto, admitting that while she had good fun this year, she's decided that it will be her last for a while.

She told us earlier this month: "I’ve decided I’m not going to do panto this year. I had a ball and it’s always good fun, but I want a break so that I can spend more time at home with the kids."

It comes after she vowed to lose three stone this year and "become the best version of herself".

Kerry, who is engaged to personal trainer Ryan Mahoney, said: “Like everybody else when a new year starts, I want to get back into shape,” she explained.

“I was living out of a suitcase for the majority of last year as I was travelling so much for work and then panto.

“My routine became all over the place and I was eating badly and I didn’t have the time to train as much as I would like to.

"But now I want to get back to my very best. I want to be the best version of myself in 2023."
