Kerry Katona says she’s ‘heaviest she’s ever been without being pregnant’

Kerry Katona has opened up about her weight struggles in her new autobiography.

The mum-of-five, 42, candidly opened up about her recent weight gain, revealing that she is the heaviest she's ever been "without being pregnant".

Writing in her new tell-all book, titled Kerry Katona: Whole Again, the former Atomic Kitten star explained: "I have never been like this, this is the biggest I have ever been naturally without being pregnant."

Kerry went on to detail her "secret tummy tuck" which never healed properly and has left her feeling swollen with a "lump" in her stomach.

"I had my secret tummy tuck and I've never recovered properly. It hasn't healed and I have a lump there now. It is all swollen. I am having that sorted next year," Kerry added in her book.

A "tummy tuck" is also known as abdominoplasty – a cosmetic procedure to improve the shape of the tummy area.

According to the NHS website, it can involve removing excess loose skin, fat and stretch marks, while tightening the abdominal muscles.

Kerry has branded the procedure the "worst thing I ever did" and said that as she didn't let it heal properly she has ended up with unsatisfying results.

She continued: “It’s the worst thing I ever did. It’s my own fault. It wasn’t a botched job or anything like that. I didn’t let my body recover and rather than resting, I moved house."

“My whole body is swollen and full of lumps, so I’m having corrective surgery next year," the 42 year old explained.

Kerry's explosive new autobiography sees her also open up on her past marriages and miscarriage heartbreak, and after looking back on her past trauma, she said she now feels "content" with herself.

Sighing with relief, Kerry said: "I finally feel like I’m in a really good place.

“I feel content and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I hope this book shows people you can overcome anything.”

Kerry Katona: Whole Again (Mirror Books) is available from 13 October.
