Kim Kardashian declined to do a 2023 Balenciaga campaign, shell wear other labels
The thing about Kim Kardashian’s Balenciaga contract is that she never needed the money. Kim was never even a Balenciaga-exclusive brand ambassador or anything, she just decided to appear in some Balenciaga ad campaigns and wear a lot Balenciaga, likely because of her close friendship with chief designer Demna Gvasalia. Well, it’s all blown up in her face over the past week. Balenciaga organized a disgusting ad campaign featuring children holding teddy bears in bondage gear, bears with bruised eyes. Earlier this week, Kim posted her statement about the Balenciaga ads, expressing disgust and outrage, and describing how she’s had conversations with Balenciaga higher-ups. Now TMZ reports that before this controversy blew up, Kim had been approached to do another campaign. She’s now declined.
Kim Kardashian announced she’s ‘re-evaluating’ her future with Balenciaga, but it appears she’s made up her mind … declining an offer from the brand, and ditching outfits she was set to wear at upcoming events.
Sources with direct knowledge of the situation tell us the design house presented Kim an offer to do a 2023 Balenciaga campaign before the controversial child BDSM ads went live. We’re told once those ads went public, Kim made the decision to reject the offer … even before releasing a statement on the issue.
Not only that … our sources say Kim had plans to wear Balenciaga outfits at events she’s attending in coming months, but she’s pulled the plug and contacted other designers for new options.
Kim took a lot of heat for not immediately denouncing Balenciaga’s campaign or announcing she was leaving the brand — but our sources say she’s not even locked into a contract with Balenciaga right now, and isn’t directly making money from the company.
Clearly, Balenciaga got Kim’s message and announced Monday … “We want to ensure that new controls mark a pivot and will prevent this from happening again. We are laying the groundwork with organizations who specialize in child protection and aims at ending child abuse and exploitation.”
Our sources say Kim does not have any plans to work with the brand in the future.

Yeah, I’m not surprised that she’s finding a way to move away from her relationship with the label. I am surprised that she is not currently under contract with them though – what was her statement about earlier this week then? If she has no contractual or financial ties to the label currently, just say that! Anyway, while I know this isn’t the most important thing at all, I’m interested to see how Kim “replaces” the Balenciaga-shaped hole in her heart. She’s been wearing those stupid Balenciaga catsuits for years now. It’s past time for her to get a new signature look. I hope she doesn’t go with Chanel or Dior. I could see her trying to go all-in with Valentino though.
