Lady Gaga leaps into action and halts interview as Oscars photographer takes a tumble
Lady Gaga amazed fans when she was seen rushing to help a photographer on the Oscars 2023 red carpet after they tripped over right next to her.
The actress was nominated for best song at the Oscars 2023 – hosted by late night chat show host Jimmy Kimmel at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood – for her efforts on the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack, and wore a stunning sheer, long-sleeved black dress with her hair styled back.
And as the 36 year old made her way along the carpet, posing for photographs, one photographer had an unlucky fall as he walked past her.
But in a video captured by People magazine, Gaga was quick to the rescue – as she was seen running back to help him up and ensure he was alright before continuing with photographs and interviews.
Fans quickly commented on Lady Gaga's kind remark, with one writing: "Acts of kindness come naturally to her, she’s a Queen."
"Seen so many instances of her being this way….and it’s always instant, without any forethought or calculation. 100% who she is!" another wrote.
A third went on to say: "What a great moment to show the world you are a kind person."
Another shared: "Every year at the Oscar's, Gaga does something everyone else there forgets… she's human before she's a celebrity."
Lady Gaga wore the Versace creation on the night after supermodel Gigi Hadid rocked the look just a few days ago on the catwalk for Versace's FW23 show in Los Angeles.
The star was seen showing off her tattooed backside in the risqué gown before performing Hold My Hand on stage at the ceremony.
The incredible evening saw Michelle Yeoh make history by becoming the first Asian best winner as she was awarded Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Accepting her award from Halle Berry, who was the first Black woman to win the award in the 2001 film, The Monster’s Ball, and Jessica Chastian, Michelle, 60, said in her speech: “Thank you. For all the little boys and girls who look like me who are watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities.
"This is proof that dreams dream big, and dreams do come true. And ladies, don’t let anyone ever tell you that you’re past your prime.”
Michelle continued: “I have to dedicate this to my mum, all the mums in the world because they are really the superheroes and without them none of us would be here tonight. She’s 84 and I’m taking this home to her. This is history in the making.”
Just moments after Michelle’s moving speech, Everything Everywhere All At Once went on to win Best Picture – marking its seventh award.
Jamie Lee Curtis and Ke Huy Quan also won Oscars for the film, with Ke Huy, 51, leaving the Oscars audience and viewers at home in floods of tears with his winner's speech.
He said on stage: "My journey started on a boat, I spent a year in a refugee camp and somehow I ended up here on Hollywood's biggest stage. They say stories like this only happen in the movies, I cannot believe it’s happening to me. This is the American dream.”
