Love Island fans call for Michael Owen to step in amid Luca’s ‘jealous’ behaviour towards Gemma

Love Island fans have called on Michael Owen to step in to "save" his daughter Gemma after noticing Luca Bish's "jealous" behaviour on the ITV dating show.

During Sunday 17 July evening's episode, viewers saw fishmonger Luca, 23, fuming over scenes played out between Gemma, 19, and Billy Brown, 23, in which he claimed she was "flirting".

Interrogating Gemma, he accused her of "entertaining it," which she denied before admitting she and Billy had a "flirty chat". Despite this, she insisted: "I don’t think any lines have been crossed.”

Now, viewers have taken to Twitter to urge her dad, former professional footballer Michael, 42, to step in as one person shared: "Can @themichaelowen please step in and save his daughter from this scary man! #LoveIsland".

Another said: "If Gemma and Luca's relationship progresses, Michael Owen needs to step in! Luca won't be happy until Gemma's only looking at the floor! #loveisland".

A third added: "@themichaelowen please please step in and stop Gemma making a mistake with a complete nut job! Luca is every young girls nightmare #loveisland".

Meanwhile, another fan of the show called out Luca after Monday 18 July's episode during the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge as they shared: "Luca thinks they’re pieing him because the girls are jealous and not because he’s shown his true colours #LoveIsland".

As another said: "Gemma cant even play the game properly because luca is so insanely jealous #loveisland".

Luca, who recently confused fans over his remarks to Gemma, received several pies to the face for the girls in the villa, including from Danica Taylor, Tasha Ghouri, and Paige Thorne.

Shoving the pie in his face, Danica explained that she went for it because he pied her off while they were coupled up at the start of her Love Island journey.

Paige then also took the same course and pied him in the face, explaining that she decided to go for it as she believes he's the "biggest s*** stirrer in here, lot’s of love though.”

Tasha, on the other hand, decided to choose him because of his comments about her and Andrew Le Page's relationship.

During a game around the fire pit the night before, Luca was asked to choose the Islander who is "riding on their partners coattails" – and he chose Tasha.

Getting payback, Tasha pied him in the face and explained her reason was because "he has bad opinions of me and is clearly not a true friend."
