Love Island feud reignited as Zara and Tanyel blast lies and unaired villa drama
Former Love Island stars Zara Lackenby Brown and Tanyel Revan have opened up about unaired villa drama, as they labelled former co-star Olivia Hawkins a "mean girl."
The feud between the former islanders was reignited after Zara, 25, and Tanyel, 26, made a TikTok directed at Olivia, 27, after she made comments about Tanyel.
Commenting on a TikTok clip of Tanyel on the reunion show, Olivia had commented: "Shame I didn't get to say the real reason why she left [smiling emoji]."
And in reaction to this, Zara and Tanyel made a video referencing the fact that Olivia's former flame Kai Fagan had gone on to win the show with Sanam Harrinanan, with whom he had recoupled with following Casa Amor.
Now in an interview on On Demand Entertainment, Tanyel and Zara have opened up about the feud with Olivia, with Tanyel telling the outlet: "She painted us out to be the mean girls but what she has forgotten to say is we have always only ever reacted to everything she has constantly started.
"One thing that really got to me was how she explained when she got out of the villa she got a lot of hate, and we shouldn't add on to it.
"All I felt like saying was, how dare you? This is coming from the mean girl, who was mean in the villa for six weeks."
Zara went on to add that she had felt quite down in the villa at times, in part due to Olivia, who she claims was turning the other girls against her.
After being dumped from the villa, Zara said she wanted to let bygones be gone and was on good terms with Olivia, however this changed after the ring girl also left the villa and started making comments about Tanyel.
On seeing these, Zara says that she realised that Olivia hadn't changed, adding that it "triggered something" in her and she wanted to shut the behaviour down.
Zara and Tanyel also discussed some villa unaired drama between Zara and Tanya Manhenga, as they accused her of "snitching" and "lying".
Zara recalled being left in tears after she found out Tanya had told Olivia that she picked her as the most "two faced" during a challenge "to make good TV", adding that she thought she'd found a friend in Tanya.
She said: "The producers had to step in, I was really crying, everyone saw, and for me that was a moment I wanted to forget, it didn't make it to air."
She was also left disappointed with Tanya after leaving the villa and seeing some of the things Tanya has said about her, including on movie night when she was shown a video that appeared to show Shaq flirting with Zara.
Watching this, Tanya said "oh, you want to flirt with THAT girl?"
Responding to this clip, Zara has said that she'd never talk about friend like that.
Since her exit from the villa, Olivia has opened up on trolling she has received and said: "I am human at the end of the day, I’m not a character on television."
