Love Island star looks better than ever with new blonde hair and fringe

Long blonde extensions have become Joanna Chimonides signature look, and although it may seem like a distant memory, Joanna Chimonides first arrived on our screens back in 2019, and she had a very different hairstyle.

When she first entered the Love Island villa four years ago, Joanna was sporting a short, honey coloured bob, but since then has gone on to embrace her new go-to look, which includes ultra long extensions and a platinum shade of blonde.

Although she’s not quite ready to give up her dramatic blonde look just yet, Joanna has opted for a subtle hair switch up after visiting the Sharp & Owen salon in Kent on Wednesday.

Joanna stuck to her signature blonde, getting a colour refresh to make it slightly ashier and turning up the platinum tones, after rocking a much warmer shade of blonde recently.

She also got a subtle darker colour placed on the underneath sections of her hair, with a warm ‘bronde’ shade, that mixes blonde and brown tones, placed underneath her top sections to give her hair some added depth and dimension.

Joanna also stuck to her usual shadow root style that helps mask root growth, making her blonde hair easier to maintain as it masks the harsh line of darker roots that can grow in when the blonde is taken all the way up to her scalp.

When it came to her style, Joanna kept her lengthy extensions which fell just below her chest and opted for some longer layers throughout for some added movement and texture.

After having long layers framing her face for a while, it seems Joanna was keen to embrace one of the most popular current fringe trends; the curtain bangs.

Although she didn’t quite commit to a dramatic fringe, the former Love Islander has had some much shorter layers cut in around her face and forehead, with the subtle layers sweeping off to the side to create a softer version of the curtain bangs.

Joanna showed off her new ‘do on her Instagram stories as she shared a pic of her looking fresh faced and glowing with her new cut and colour, writing: “Ignore my skin flare up, but thank you my love as per” and tagging her stylist Brendan Rayton.

Brendan is a professional colourist and extensions, making him the perfect choice for Joanna’s go-to stylist to give her hair a revamp. To complete her new look, Joanna’s hair had been styled into her signature beachy waves.

Joanna had recently given her followers a look at her hair without extensions, as she revealed that her natural hair was actually just below her shoulders, and much finer than her voluminous extensions.

Joanna also admitted: “I just loveeee being blonde, but but but, I’ve only started putting bleach on my hair every 4-5 months now to avoid loads of damage!”

It looks as though Joanna’s determination to avoid bleaching it too frequently has paid off, as her hair currently looks shiny and healthy, and ready to take on her new blonder shade.
