Love Island star rushed to hospital with excruciating pains as she shares health update
Love Island star Andrea-Jane Bunker has shared a health update with her followers, revealing she was recently rushed to hospital after suffering "excruciating pains".
The reality TV star, 30, who appeared on the ITV2 dating show in 2021, took to Instagram on Monday evening to issue an update to her followers, where she detailed how she'd been ignoring pains in her back and abdomen for a few days before having to be taken to hospital.
Andrea-Jane, also known as AJ, shared a photo of her arm with a drip attached to it and penned a lengthy message to her fans.
She wrote: "Thank you for all the messages. Over the last few days I developed pains in my back and abdomen.
"I didn't think much of it and just ignored it. However last night it became excruciatingly painful to the point of needing to go to hospital."
AJ continued, revealing she was in "urgent care" for 12 hours, where she was put on an IV drip and went through a "number of tests".
"I was in urgent care for 12 hours going through a number of tests and put on an IV. I've now been discharged however need to go back in the next few days for an ultrasound," she added.
The ex-Islander went on to urge her followers not to ignore any pains in their body, adding: "Please guys listen to your body and don't do what I did with ignoring pains and aches until it gets extremely bad.
"Big thank you to the nurses and doctors who took care of me at the L&D."
AJ's health update comes after she opened up about her time on Love Island, revealing producers changed her name just moments before she entered the Majorcan villa as a bombshell in 2021.
In an exclusive interview with OK!, she revealed: "My actual name is Andrea Jane, so people either call me Andrea, Jane or Janey. No one ever calls me AJ."
She said the nickname AJ was used in the holding villa as a codename in order to keep her identity secret, but TV bosses decided to use the name on the programme.
“Minutes before I walked into the villa, an exec asked if it was ok if I was called AJ. I thought he was speaking about the codename and wanted to keep my real name under wraps. I didn’t realise they were actually going to change my name,” she told OK!.
