Love Island’s Amy Hart shares romantic snaps from surprise ‘babymoon’ getaway
Love Island’s Amy Hart has shared a series of touching photos of her trip to New York with her boyfriend, Sam Rason, ahead of the birth of their first baby.
Amy, who appeared on season five of the ITV2 show and was coupled up with ex Curtis Pritchard, surprised Sam with a trip to the US as an early birthday present.
Dubbing it a “babymoon”, much like her former co-star Molly-Mae Hague, who is also pregnant with her first child with partner Tommy Fury, Amy took to Instagram to share pictures at well-known New York attractions.
In the caption, Amy, 30, penned: “Last trip as a 2. Doing my big NYC q&A on my stories now during the football! Now it’s time to start prepping for a baby!”
The first shot shows Sam, 33, gazing lovingly at Amy while in the Rockefeller Center with the iconic Christmas tree in the background.
The subsequent images show the happy couple at the Empire State Building, the Radio City Music Hall, and the Statue of Liberty.
In the comments, tech entrepreneur Sam wrote: "Such a magical trip. I was so so surprised to be going to #nyc. Massively tricked until the gate. Now we prepare to become a 3… So excited to be doing this with you."
Amy surprised Sam with the trip and didn’t tell him until they arrived at Heathrow Airport, though fans were treated to his reaction on Instagram.
Sam was visibly stunned by the revelation, prompting fans to call his reaction “amazing.”
In the caption, Amy wrote: "Mission accomplished! Sam had tried not to overthink any of it as it was a surprise but he thought [we were going to] European Christmas Markets.
"He was very shocked it was long haul and even more that it was New York. He came over to my seat during boarding like 'it's just hit me, this is crazy'. Can't wait to show Sam around."
Amy shocked the nation back in August when she revealed her pregnancy while on ITV’s Loose Women, where she said: “It was very unexpected, we weren't going to try until next year.
"I had my 30th completely sober. I had people coming up to my saying, 'You don't seem very drunk'.”
"I said to my best friend, 'People are starting to ask' and they said, 'Well, you're going to have to do something',” she added.
"So when the ABBA tribute band performed Lay All Your Love On I started crawling across the dancefloor – and nobody asked again."
At the time, Amy had just spent £15k to freeze her eggs, though she admitted that it was less about having a baby and more about “the longevity of my egg reserve.”
"I might need them in the future but if I don't, I'll donate them,” she added.
