Princess Diana would be very unhappy with Harrys royal attacks on William

Princess Diana would be "very unhappy" with Prince Harry's attacks on his brother Prince William, says royal expert Ingrid Seward.

Harry was rather critical of his elder brother in both his Netflix docu-series and his best-selling memoir Spare, in which he accused his brother of physically attacking him during a row about Meghan Markle.

Now Ingrid Seward, who has written about the royals for over 40 years, has said that she doesn't think Diana would be particularly impressed by some of her younger son's actions.

She told OK!: "Diana used to say 'Harry's the naughty one, just like me', but Diana was more sensitive to people's feelings than Harry is.

"She wouldn't have been so outspoken because she wouldn't want to hurt William. I imagine that Diana would be unhappy with the way Harry has spoken about his brother."

Discussing what Diana would think about Harry's criticism of his father King Charles, Ingrid continued: "I think that Diana felt it was the exclusive right to attack her husband. But, certainly not her children's right to attack their father."

She concluded: "I think he's realised he's gone too far with William and he's said more than enough. To my mind, the whole of Spare was a pretty good attack on his brother."

In Spare, Harry recalled the time his brother physically attacked him, writing: "It all happened so fast, so very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor.

"I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out."

During the press tour for his book, Harry appeared The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where he showed off the necklace that the claimed was damaged by his brother.

“There is a lot of talk about the physical fight that the two of you had, where he pushed you down in the kitchen and broke the dog bowl, when you fell on it. It says it broke your necklace. What necklace was it that he broke?”

“This one. Which is now fixed,” Harry said as he held up the necklace.

Despite the fallout and further estrangement from his family, Harry is said to have "no regrets" over the memoir.

A guest who spoke to him at Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s surprise vow renewal told Page Six: “Harry said he was really happy about the success of the book and the reaction to it.

“He said he had no regrets about any of the revelations, and he’s relieved to have got his story out into the world. There’s been an amazing reaction to it, he said.“
