Love Island’s Luca Bish and Gemma Owen became embroiled in a tense row after he ‘pushed’ her aside during a raunchy challenge on Tuesday night’s episode.
The fishmonger, 23, and the daughter of Michael Owen, 19, clashed over a Mile High-themed challenge that saw Gemma lick Adam Collard’s chest.
But Luca appeared to become annoyed and ‘pushed’ Gemma on to the next boy, with the couple later getting into a row over the moment as Gemma criticised him for his ‘moody’ reaction.

And while viewers deemed Luca’s reaction to the challenge as ‘wild’, his family were quick to flock to his defence and claim that he was in a ‘crazy intense environment’ and lauded him for being ‘vulnerable’.
In the challenge, dressage rider Gemma transformed into a sexy flight attendant and threw herself into the task, licking 26-year-old Adam’s chest as the other boys laughed.
But as Gemma moved over to Luca, he was seen ‘pushing’ her on to the next boy, Dami, as he appeared to be visibly annoyed by the raunchy moment.
Speaking in the Beach Hut, he said: ‘I’ll be honest, I don’t want to see Gemma licking any other bloke.’

Gemma laughed and continued with the challenge, going back to her partner at the end, with Luca smiling as he appeared to have gotten over the moment.
But after returning to the villa, Gemma pulled Luca aside to discuss his reaction during the challenge, saying he was acting like a 12-year-old for ‘pushing’ her away.
Luca initially denied that he was irritated, saying it was ‘just banter’, but then went on to admit that he couldn’t ‘stay annoyed’ at her.
During their heated row, Gemma said: ‘You can sit here and say that you’re not in a mood… you’re in a mood.’

As Luca insisted he wasn’t, Gemma protested: ‘Luca don’t play thick… you were pushing me off, had a face like a slapped a**e, are you 12?!’
He then admitted that he had been irritated by her ‘licking’ the other boys in the challenge, saying he wouldn’t ‘stay annoyed’ at her for it.
He said: ‘It’s obviously not nice to see but it’s a challenge. Licking other boys, putting your head down there, but it’s a challenge. I can’t exactly stay annoyed at you for it.’
Yet Gemma was quick to pick up on his wording, responding: ‘So you can’t exactly ‘stay’ annoyed at me for it – so you were annoyed at me for it.’

Gemma sarcastically quipped: ‘Well that went well.’
Speaking to her fellow Islanders, Gemma had also branded Luca a ‘p***k’ for getting annoyed at the challenge, while Indiyah Polack said he was being a ‘baby’.

Taking to Luca’s Instagram Stories – as they are running his social media while he is in the villa – his family argued that the fishmonger was being ‘vulnerable’ and ‘in touch with his emotions’ during the heated row.
In a lengthy statement, they penned: ‘9/10 weeks of no contact with any family and friends. It’s a crazy intense environment where emotions are heightened. Learning to have disagreements and resolve them is part of all successful relationships.
‘Society preaches for men to not bottle things up and to open up??? So proud of how vulnerable and in touch with his emotions he’s been. Nothing but real.
‘First to admit if he’s being a little f**k, but really don’t feel he’s in the wrong here at all. Would do anything to hug him.’
However, viewers took to Twitter to describe Luca’s reaction to Gemma licking other boys during the challenge as ‘wild’.

And other viewers criticised Luca for previously telling Tasha Ghouri ‘it’s just a game’ when she became upset after the Truth Or Dare and Snog Marry Pie challenges.
Last week, Dami and Luca had insisted ‘it’s just a game’ and said they wouldn’t apologise after Tasha became upset with the pair for calling her ‘fake’ in a challenge.
On Tuesday, fans took to Twitter to point out that he had told Tasha not to get upset over a challenge, before getting into an argument with Gemma over a game.
One person wrote: ‘Luca is p**sing me off. like seriously how many times did you tell tasha ‘it was just a challenge’ WHEN SHE WAS CRYING. gemma didnt do s**t #loveisland.’
Another said: ‘Oh, so Luca can say to Tasha that ‘it’s just a game’ to downplay how she should be feeling and yet in games and challenges, he can be allowed to feel pissed? He’s the hugest hypocrite in there, get him out!’

The fishmonger was seen taking off his mic and walking out of the front door following the argument, that came after a group debrief saw the girls take Gemma’s side and the boy’s agree with Luca.
Indiyah branded Luca a ‘baby’ for being moody over the challenge whilst Adam and Davide said that Luca was in the right regarding his ‘feelings’ during that moment.
During a chat after the challenge, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu mused: ‘Was it me or was I seeing that Luca was being a bit weird? Like when you were doing your challenge?’

Viewers of the show claimed the heated row highlighted the couples ‘serious compatibility issues’, with some slamming Gemma’s ‘aggressive approach’ and others believing that Luca was ‘overly jealous’ and protective.
Elsewhere fans slammed the other contestants for getting involved and ‘stirring’ the pot in the moments leading up the the row.

A third fan disagreed as they wrote: ‘People just want to use Luca as a scapegoat and a whipping toy it’s so clear.
