Love Island’s Laura Anderson’s traditional ‘but not Disney’ baby name

Preparing for the arrival of her first child in August, Laura Anderson has her baby name ready to go.

The former Love Island star is expecting a baby girl with her ex Gary Lucy and exclusively told OK! they chose the "traditional" name for their baby girl early on in her pregnancy.

And although she's keeping the name under wraps, she did reveal her baby won't be named after a "Disney" character.

Looking ahead to the birth too, Laura, who found fame in the 2018 series of Love Island, she seems unfazed by it.

“I took a hypnobirthing course which was quite interesting,” she said. “I’d quite like to have a water birth – I think the heat is good for your back. I don’t think you can really plan these things though. I’m trying to educate myself on all the things that could happen.”

In her first photo shoot since announcing her pregnancy, the reality star also opened up on her split from Gary earlier this year, who she met during filming for Celebs Go Dating last summer, and shared with us some insight into the reason for the separation.

“It’s really hard to explain," she began. "I wanted us to reconcile and I wanted things to work out, but because of things I found out since then, and the fact nothing has been discussed or resolved, I think for now I’m trying to just be positive and think about the baby and be strong, because everything became too chaotic.”

Understandably, Laura wants to keep certain things private for the sake of their child and her “main goal” is to make sure everything remains “civil” with Gary, although she admitted that this is a work in progress.

“We have had times of it being civil and then it’s not…” she said. “There are a lot of emotions going around for everyone, so it’s difficult. Being able to be civil from now until the birth and then after is my goal.”

Laura also told us she has had overwhelming support from other single mums on social media who have been offering words of advice and support.

“All the information you can give me, great,” she said. “Not that I’ll listen to all of it, but I enjoy learning and I think that’s all you can do to prepare for labour and having a baby – educate yourself as much as you can. I hope my community of single mums will grow, because I’ve definitely seen a difference in my followers. And it’s really nice how supportive women have been."
