Love Island’s Olivia Hawkins and Maxwell Samuda ‘split after drifting apart’ post-villa

Love Island stars Olivia Hawkins and Maxwell Samuda have split, according to reports.

The pair recently defended their relationship amid reports that things were rocky between them, but now they've called it quits.

Rumours of there being trouble in paradise between them began after Maxwell was spotted with Olivia's Love Island rival Zara Lackenby-Brown, who she butted heads with several times in the villa.

Olivia, 27, was later spotted attending a red carpet event without her 23 year old beau, with Maxwell then jetting off to Mexico without her.

It now looks as if Olivia has deleted almost all photographs of her with Maxwell from her Instagram.

A source told The Sun of their break up: "Although it was rumoured they’d already split they only had a proper chat about where their relationship was going yesterday, and they both agreed the writing was on the wall.

"They had fun while it lasted, and there are no hard feelings at all, but he obviously went to Mexico, and Olivia has been focusing on work projects."

The source added that the former flames had simply "drifted apart".

OK! has contacted Olivia and Maxwell's representatives for comment.

The split comes just days after Olivia insisted she and Maxwell were busy making plans for the future.

She told OK!: "I definitely see it going long-term.

"I’ve never had a boyfriend before, but I definitely see it going in that direction, for sure. I think I’ve just been way too picky in the past when it comes to guys."

The news of the alleged split comes just days after this season's runners-up Lana Jenkins and Ron Hall predicted that Olivia and Maxwell would be the next couple to break up.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan, Ron explained: “I think they will just because they never had enough time in there. We’ve never really spoken to them about how it’s been outside.”

“Yeah we haven’t caught up with them yet,” Lana added.

Olivia was part of the original line up of the most recent series of the popular ITV2 show, and ended up sparking up a romance with Kai Fagan but not before getting to know Haris Namani and Tom Clare first.

But their romance came to an end after Casa Amor saw Sanam Harrinanan and Maxwell introduced to the show, with Olivia and Kai getting to know the newbies.

Both choosing to couple up with their new love interests, Kai and Olivia stayed with their respective partners for the rest of their time in the villa.

Olivia and Maxwell were dumped on day 45, but didn't leave quietly as they were tasked with choosing another couple to go home with them in a show first with Claudia Fogarty and Keanan Brand being the unlucky pair.

Elsewhere, lovebirds Kai and Sanam went on to be crowned as this series' winners.
