MAFS UK star George shares post saying he should have been paired with Gemma instead

Married at First Sight UK star George Robert has shared an Instagram post saying he and co-star Gemma Rose should have been matched.

The father of four took to his Instagram account to share an answer from a Q&A Gemma had with her fans, while adding his own laughing and heart emojis.

The shared post in question read: “George or PJ would have been better suited to you" to which Gemma jokingly quipped: “A George and PJ sandwich” and tagged both men.

George, who tied the knot with former Miss Great Britain April Banbury on the E4 series, has openly admitted to issues in his current marriage, particularly his struggles with trust after being cheated on in the past.

While on their honeymoon in Jamaica on the show, April kissed another girl which was triggering for him.

He later shared: "I was at the bar getting some drinks, then I went back to the hot tub where we were. Literally, I could have ripped the ring off there and then."

This comes after April recently revealed she’s in therapy following her time on the show while also hinting that she had split from the 40 year old.

April took to her Instagram Stories to speak out about her “cry baby” moments on the show and spoke directly to her followers encouraging them to “not be afraid to let their emotions out”.

The clip saw April recalling the "intense" and "tough" time, revealing she is now in therapy.

And in a telling comment, suggesting that the pair may have called it quits, she wrote: “The traumas that have been brought on from this show have made me re-evaluate things.

"I really have and I'm not ashamed to admit this, I have been seeing a therapist ever since.

"They have helped me overcome a lot from the show and I am grateful for that."

One said: "If you're trying to justify something, you are trying to escape from something you don't want to admit."

A Channel 4 spokesperson told MailOnline : “Contributor care and safety is our priority at all times throughout this production and we ensure robust contributor care and safety protocols are in place.

“Appropriate support is available to contributors before, during and after filming and broadcast, including access to our experts and an independent psychologist.”

George has recently been accused of alleged emotional abuse by three of his ex-girlfriends which he "categorically denies".

Channel 4, which runs E4, claimed rigorous checks were made on the contestants and “any allegations of this nature are taken extremely seriously”.

A spokesperson told OK!: “We work incredibly closely with our production partners to ensure all Married at First Sight UK contributors are subject to rigorous background and psychological checks, including the most detailed police checks a production is able to undertake.

"Any allegations of this nature are taken extremely seriously by Channel 4.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for George said: “George categorically denies these allegations.

"As a father of daughters he finds these accusations deeply upsetting and does not condone abuse nor behaves in that way.

“These allegations were never brought to his attention, investigated or taken further by the police for good reason as they are simply not true.”
