Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan reveal the two things banned from new £1.3m mansion

TV personality Mark Wright has revealed the two items that will be banned from his newly refurbished home.

The former TOWIE star, who recently opened up on his terrifying cancer scare as he said "you're not immortal", has spent months working on the refurbishment of the £1.3 million Essex mansion he shares with wife, actress Michelle Keegan.

The pair have been keeping fans updated on the renovation process, regularly sharing details on their social media accounts.

And earlier this week, the reality TV star turned football pundit posted a clip on his Instagram story, sharing that the carpet had finally been installed.

The carpet, fans were quick to note, looked extremely comfortable, but was also very white.

It was then that Mark revealed one of the items that the couple have banned from their new home as he said: “The colour is revealed… and this is why if you come to this house you will never be wearing shoes, or socks, you'll be washing your feet."

Mark, whose wife recently showed off her washboard abs while in Australia, added: “Basically pure white with a little hint of cream, and the best thing about this, this is eco-friendly, recycled from the ocean. Absolutely beautiful, over the moon.”

While removing shoes as you enter someone’s house is pretty commonplace, removing socks as well is rather less popular.

Speaking to the Mirror, Mark revealed another item that will be banned from the couple’s plush pad: "Just don't drink red wine on my sofa and don't wear shoes."

Having spent months on the renovation process, Mark said the couple are pretty excited to be moving in – although, with Michelle currently filming in Australia, they may have to wait a couple more months to truly make the house a home.

Revealing what he’s looking forward to most about moving in, Mark said: “Just having a home again, to be honest.

"We sold our other house nearly a year and three months ago. So just having that house and that base again, can't wait."

Asked what Michelle is most excited about he continued: "I think the same really. It's been a long time coming. We've built it to our dream and we're just excited.

"It's like anytime when anyone moves into a house you're excited aren't you? It's just exciting."

The couple has spent a lot of time and poured so much energy into renovating their new home, that even a more conservative estimate suggests that the house has more than doubled in value.

Mark and Michelle purchased the house for £1.3 million, and it’s now believed to be worth a whopping £3.5 million, if not even more.
