Maura Higgins leads stars congratulating Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury on baby girls birth

Maura Higgins was one of the first stars to offer congratulations to new parents Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, following the birth of their daughter.

Molly-Mae and Tommy, both 23, welcomed their baby girl on 23 January, with Molly-Mae being uncharacteristically silent for a week on social media before sharing the news that she had become a mum.

Maura, 31, who appeared on Love Island with the couple back in 2019, jumped on social media to congratulate them on their new arrival.

She wrote: "So so so proud of you always. She is so perfect."

The star also re-shared Molly-Mae and Tommy's birth announcement on her Instagram Story.

Several famous friends joined Maura in sharing their delight at the happy news.

Former Love Islander Montana Brown, who is due to give birth later this year, said: "Congrats gorgeous people so happy for you both xxx."

Fellow former Love Islander, Gemma Owen commented: "Congratulations," with love heart emojis.

TOWIE's Demi Jones added: "The biggest congratulations!!"

Molly-Mae and Tommy announced the arrival of their daughter with an adorable first photo of the little one, shared on Instagram.

Beside the couple's image, their caption simply read the date of their daughter's birth: "23/01/23" alongside a white love heart emoji.

They then posted more sweet snaps on their Stories, including one of the baby girl, whose name they haven't revealed, snoozing on her dad.

There had been much speculation that the pair’s baby girl had arrived before their announcement, as Molly had gone silent on social media.

In her last photo shared before becoming a mother, Molly-Mae was seen looking down and cradling her baby bump whilst wearing a white dressing gown tied at the waist.

Molly-Mae captioned the post: “I really couldn’t have asked my body to provide a better home for the first 9 months of our little girls life…so blessed to say my pregnancy has been a complete and utter dream.”

The couple are yet to announce their daughter's name, although there has been much speculation as to what it could be.

The first-time mum previously spoke about being “realty excited” at her new chapter as a parent, and said in her 2022 autobiography Becoming Molly-Mae: “I always wanted to be that person who had babies."

Prior to Molly-Mae and Tommy's official baby announcement, boxer Tommy's rival Jake Paul announced that Molly-Mae had given birth to their daughter, as he challenged Tommy in anticipation of their upcoming fight in Saudi Arabia on 26 February.

Tommy responded with a statement on the fight, although he refused to confirm if Molly-Mae had indeed given birth to their daughter.
